KISS OF THE GYPSY KISS OF THE GYPSY
Released 1992 (Atlantic)

release from 1992. This album is loaded with cool musicianship, with a bit of luck they could have been much bigger! Kiss Of The Gypsy was a quality blues-based hard rock band based in England. The band lasted only 3 years and one album after being signed to Atlantic Records USA in 1991. Unfairly lumped in with the late 80’s hair metal scene, Kiss of the Gypsy didn’t really seem to fit that mould. These guys sounded more like Badlands, Tangier and War Babies, but like a lot of other forgotten bands, they just became another face in the crowd. Favourite songs from the record are “Whatever It Takes”, “Take This Old Heart”, “Infatuation” and “Easy Does It”. If you like good melodic hard rock music, you should enjoy this as well.

Track List:
01. Whatever It Takes
02 Blind For Love
03 Easy Does It
04 Take This Old Heart
05 Infatuation

Review:
Kiss Of The Gypsy is the debut disc from this English quintet, formerly known as Fantasia; this band album JAMS!
With rockers such as “”Easy Does It””, “”Infatuation”” and “”Keep Your Distance””, the music speaks for itself. There is also a good ballad called “”Take This Old Heart””. The style is hair metal with a tinge of blues-rock.
This was released in 1992 at the tail end of the metal movement, and despite the band having the goods to be big, unfortunately it didn’t fair well. Two thumbs up for Kiss Of The Gypsy!

yea i loved this band and saw them at marquee. They should have been more appreciated.

These guys blew me away in the old marquee club in London and still love the album after all these years!!

Seen them supporting winger years ago in Manchester totally rocked the house 🙂 think winger thought twice about coming out on stage after that!

I saw KOTG supporting Magnum in Peterborough once and they were superb. Great album too

Used to listen to these guys when they were Fantazia…best nights out ever!

LOVEEEE THIS BAND!! I rock this in my car all the time what a gem, sits right next to Saigon Kick – the lizard!! KILLER!

I’m so glad my parents were rockers as I would probably never of heard of this sick band!

KISS OF THE GYPSY TAKE THIS OLD HEART RARE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF KISS OFTHE GYPSY WITH THEIR 2ND SINGLE RELEASE “TAKE THIS OLD HEART” FROM 1991.

Amazing song, simply awesome. Still one of my favourite songs.

One of the greatest ballads in all time. Kiss of the gypsy were a real cool blues rock band, heavily influenced by Rod Stewart that sadly released only one album, the self titled “kiss of the gypsy” in the first years of the 90 before fading into nothing. Enjoy the track! Lyrics: Let fly away now on the wings of wonder, Touch me again, The cold breath of winter, hold me in your arms, Shield me again, Like the shadow of night I’ll haunt you, Behind you wherever you may go, Like a kiss on the wind I’ll find you, No matter how far you wish to go… (Chorus) Take this old heart of mine, It can sustain anything from you but, I can’t face loneliness again, I’ll keep my promise, If it means I’ll never lose you again, I’m coming in with my eyes open wide. You can ride on my shoulders, Through the skies like an eagle I’ll carry you, Like a rock i will stand and support you, I’ll be earth beneath your feet, I will be there to hold on to, If you ever grow tired hold on to me..
