Steepwater kind of reminds me a little of Gov’t Mule, kind of a southern rock, with a little less jam band approach than the Mule. All in all tunes are catchy with some blues and rock vibes mixed together.gret music for a summer day. Highly recommended .

Absolutely incredible band. I just got turned on to these guys. Money well spent. If you like your rock Southern and your blooze jumpy, this disc is for you. “”Dead Horse”” is a rawkin’ song in the Stones vein. “”Back to the Bottle”” and “”Jammin’ Down Southern”” have great slide work. And “”Black Cat’s Path”” has great riffs.

Supersweet rock n roll
This is one of my favorite Chicago area bands, and I’ve seen them a dozen or so times around town. The album, in a word, is fantastic. This is great bluesy roots southern seventies feeling rock AND roll (both are important, I hope you realize), by talented musicians who know their way around a stage, and, apparently, a studio. And a guitar store, holy moly. Someone got the big catalog and went all out there. YEE HAW!

Awesome Southern Whiskey Bules CD
The guitar work is great. This CD takes you back when Music was real. There is nothing phony about this album. This Album will remind you of The Black Crowes, A Little Allman Brothers and Free. A real southern Rock feel. A must for all true music Lovers. Note: If you are into glam and dance, this is not for you. These are real Musicians. Sit back, fire one up,have a shot of whiskey and enjoy.

Great Band, Great Album!
great band, so getting this CD was a given! Every track is a winner, but my favorite is “”Back To The Bottle””, with some hard driving slide guitar and soulful vocals.

Best southern rock CD in years
Yes there is alot og Bad Company, Free, Humble Pie, Black Crowes in The Steepwater Band.
Also the best from Molly Hatchet, Point Blank and Hydra.
Best Southern rock CD since Cry Of Love’s “”Brother”” Buy!!!

The Steepwater Band takes full advantage of their musical depth and diversity, combining their influences, distinctive songwriting, and a rootsy intensity to create their own brand of classic sounding edgy rock or what some have called âœHeavy Americana.â The Chicago-bred trioâ™s organic, hard-driving synthesis of gutsy hard rock, gritty Delta blues, soulful backwoods boogie and down-home psychedelia has taken its hometown by storm. The frenzied power of the band’s live shows has won them a fiercely loyal fan base, and their last CD Dharmakaya (produced by Sean Slade & Paul Kolderie â“ Radiohead, Uncle Tupelo, Hole, Warren Zevon)
