Description

Forgotten band from the late 80s, similar to The Cult or Mission, with two small good hits, the title track and “Jesus and the devil”.

THE NAME formed in 1982 [London, England, United Kingdom] and produced two albums, Dangerous Times and Promise, on China Records, the owner Derrek Green was head of A&M at Atlantic and signed the Police.

The Name toured Europe with David Bowie and many other top artists. Listen to their music, it´s very progressive!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Times
Having never heard of Chuck Brodsky before, I just listened to “Dangerous Times” on 91.3 (Seattle / Bellevue). Plain and simple, it’s an important song, one that everyone should be required to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music of the 80’s
Finally I have the LP that I have not found in any store or download portal for years. Good independent music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome 80s
This band with the peculiar name, e.g. The search on the net is not easy, I became aware of the end of April 88, when I heard “Jesus And The Devil” on the radio. With only that one song, they grabbed me.
this album is a really good one. The songs are great. The then oh so typical comparisons with the Simple Minds and U2 are certainly not completely out of thin air, but in 1988/89 they did not hit on a lot of bands?
Highlights of the album are certainly the already mentioned “Jesus And The Devil” (here in a different version than on the maxi-single), the title track “Dangerous Times” as well as the balladesque “Last War Song”. If you liked the albums of the bands mentioned at the end of the 80s, you might discover a pearl here.
