PFR is the classic band that paved the way for these and many other Christian rock bands and this album features all of their best music.

First and foremost, of course, what comes through in these songs is the writers’ faith in God. Unlike the stereotype of Christian music, though, there are no illusions that life is always easy.
As a band, PFR (stands for Pray For Rain, by the way) demonstrated to me that Christian bands could have a great pop sensibility with awesome hooks, fun melodies, and premiere musicianship without compromising their beliefs.

Pray For Rain started out as the Joel Hanson Band in 1989 at Camp Shamineau – a Minnesota Christian youth camp. Brown Bannister would soon sign them to Vireo Records when the band was known as Inside Out. Then Patrick Andrew came up with the name “Pray For Rain” from a poem.
In 1992, to avoid both being confused with and a lawsuit with an already existing instrumental band who primarily made soundtrack music they settled on the name PFR.
