11 song CD release by Words Away. Mix of pop punk, soulful vocals and post hardcore stylings. Often compared to bands such as Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker… This is the new / enhanced version of this CD which includes the video for the track “”Move On.””
Words Away’s music is strictly from the gut. This band plays like they’re the headlining band at the concert at the end of the universe. Take “”Move On,”” for instance. At two minutes ten seconds it’s the album’s shortest song and while the tempo isn’t as fast as Words Away can get from time to time, the song just seeths with emotion. The chorus, in particular, locks into a powerful groove that, when overlaid with some shimmering little guitar flourishes, is pure pop punk ecstasy. Forget that emo stuff, this is punk rock, but just like bands such as Leatherface and Jawbreaker, it’s pop punk that’ll hit you right in the gut. Recommended listening for sure!
