Description

A healthy mixture from Heavy Rock and Melodic Metal, without any inclination towards the Power Metal-scene, but with, how do they put it so nicely, “an honest sound”. The Germans are putting much effort into catchy riffs, good, non-clichéd vocals, which also differ nicely from the gros of often equal sounding Metal-vocalists.
Opening “Wings Of Tomorrow” offers us swift Melodic Metal, which has a very peculiar feeling, to it, which, and now many will call me crazy, somehow reminds me a bit of Punk… Other recommended songs are the mid-paced “Distant Thunder”, the good ballad “Moonskin”, the at first slow-paced and dark, then speeding-up-towards-the-end “Carpe Noctem”, the variable “Shadowlands” and – well, two brilliant cover-versions, at first the PINK FLOYD-classic “Another Brick In The Wall”, which has been pumped up with some crisp guitars and then “The Traveller” by Chris de Burgh, with its great guitar-line even more brilliant!
Who doesn’t always need it fast, heavy and rough, but maybe less harsh and rocking, for you TWIZTED TOYZ is a really good buy!
