Finnish rock group.
Genre: Gothic Metal
Lyrical themes: Mythology, Folklore, Nature, History
1. On The Broken Line 04:38
2. Patron Saint 05:38
Their sound will draw many comparisons to bands like Lacuna Coil and The Gathering etc. especially with the female lead vocals and musically it is atmospheric, melodic and guitar driven.
“On The Broken Line” is a mid tempo very catchy song that bubbles along and you quickly find yourself tapping along. The whole song has that typical Gothic Metal song of now but perhaps a little more pop in places and a bit more atmospheric in others. “Patron Saint” is the better of the two songs with a much darker edge to the guitars and is slower overall. Still the chorus is huge as far as melody goes and hooks you in almost instantly. Every now and then you come across a song where the emotion of the song grabs you. With the beautiful emotion charged vocals of Susanna swirling around the equally powerful and sorrowful riffs this is one of those songs. This song alone should demand that record labels have a serious look at Unshine. Just on the basis of these two songs it is obvious that this band have much more to other than many of the rather tedious and uninspiring bands currently within the Gothic Metal scene in which Unshine are bound to be placed.
