Description
The Dogs D’Amour came out with a unique mixture of glam- and punk-influenced stonesy rock’n’roll and a do-or-die attitude. They’ve been compared to The Faces and The Quireboys but to me have more of an edge and are lyrically more convincing, not to mention the coolest artwork ever to adorn album covers and sleeves
5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for Dogs fans and the perfect intro for others,
Full of cockney wit, this 20 song collection comprises the Dogs’ singles as well as other previously unreleased material. The singles are largely easy to listen to, with catchy choruses and some great riffs, together with tender moments like the timeless Empty World. The second side is better though. Full of energy these songs stand out as amongst Tyla’s best. Pourin’ out my heart and Chains shine for me. This is one of my favourite albums, and proves that the Dogs’ energy and attitude warranted more recognition (and adulation) than they got.
