True Metal from Italy.Celtic Mythology has always been a fertile breeding ground for Metals favorite lovechild, the concept album. As is also the case here with these Italian upstarts debut album ” Worms Of The Earth”. A tale of a Celtic king who in an attempt to fight off those pesky Roman soldiers turns to ancient demons for aid. The album marches along from one up-tempo fist raising hymn to the next one, setting up camp here and there at a role-play like interlude. These theatrical bits pose a much-needed break from the relentless pace and this is where I want to make my last stand against their mighty Metal banner. Although the songs themselves are fine and work as an entity onto themselves it is precisely this that hampers them also. Its my feeling that if the tracks had flown more into one another, it would have solidified the album as a true concept album.
