This was the LP that put her among the elite of the female rockers in the mid ’80s. An all time favorite female Hard Rock / Metal singer. She had a big following in Canada and Europe. Lee had the looks, the voice and certainly the band behind her to do great things, so the music is outstanding, especially because it is added by Bob Ezrin (Kiss, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, etc) producing talents.

still The Metal Queen

This is a very underrated album and one of Lee’s best. Every track to me is a great time, with “Rock Me All Over”, “Runnin’ from the Fire”, “Line of Fire” and “Barely Holdin’ On” being stand outs. Her vocals especially on “Barely Holdin’ On” are powerful and amazing.

Whereas some of Lee Aaron’s later stuff leans toward more commercial pop metal sounds, Call of the Wild is a ballsy hard rock/metal offering with sweet riffs, flashy solos and authoritative, seductive vocals.

A great album from one of the better female rock singers of the ’80s.

This is one the best LEE ARRON album

you think you’ve heard great girl singers? you haven’t heard nothing till you’ve heard this gal! very curious that she never broke through and became a hell of a lot more recognized. Acts like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Whitesnake etc were the big guns and the industry was right behind them. Lee, being a rock chick herself, was always gonna play second fiddle to these acts. Could this girl sing! Just listen to that one AMAZING song that highlights this voice like no other: ‘barely holding on’ which is THE greatest rock ballad ever recorded. The power, expression and anguish in Lee’s voice here just has to be heard to be believed. in fact i would say that this is the greatest vocal performance by a female of any song EVER! – don’t believe me? well then, you’d better go buy this album, turn it up, and find out for yourself. its the reason why i give this album 5 stars. nothing else on it comes close in terms of quality but this track is just so essential that it warrants the rating.

girl power? yeah, i hate that term too, created as it was by a bunch of businessmen to promote their worthless act. but if girl=power is what you want then this is IT! Criminally overlooked and under-rated. a contender for the best female rock vocalist ever.
