Joe Deninzon is an interplanetary violinist and composer. The group features Joe Deninzon on six-string electric violin and vocals, Scott Chasolen on Fender Rhodes and Moog, Grisha Alexiev on drums, Rufus Philpot on bass, DJ Big Wiz on turntables, and legendary guitarist Alex Skolnick (who has worked with Testament, Savatage and Stu Hamm). They mix the avant garde jazz/rock sound of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, the pop sensibilities of the Dave Matthews Band, and Chili Peppers-style funk, to create a Stratospheeric musical experience. Five instrumentals grace the album, including “Whats That Thang?”, “Peppermint Patty”, “Contusion”, “Ants In The Pants” and “Chunga Changa”. The Adventures Of Stratospheerius rolls elements of jazz, fusion, funk and progressive rock into a brand new style, and Deninzons vocals on half the record make the work accessible to those scared off by the terms “jazz” and “fusion”. Total running time, 69:57

5.0 out of 5 stars Best fusion I’ve heard in years
The way this album segues seamlessly from furious instrumental blowouts to anthemic vocal chorus is great. What we didn’t realize from Deninzons first album is that hes one hell of a singer as well, and he employs his multi-tracked vocals to great effect here. What many jazz-rock envelope-pushers lack is a talent for hooks; Joe has more hooks than most pop albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great album
Joe Deninzon is a monster! This album shows of both his virtuosity on the violin and the talent displayed in his compositions. This is a great CD and I recommend buying it. 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is Mean!
Joe Denonzon is an incredible violinist, with a massive vocabulary. The first track is just plain mean. The 2nd track features Kenny Anderson, who is one of the most monstrous tenor sax players ever. This album is great.
