Hymn To The Ancient (Swe) Same Hymn To The Ancient formed out of the ashes of one of the greatest tribute combos that have existed, Ancient Dreams whose dedication to Candlemass became a exciting happening, they even had jam sessions with Messiah Marcolin live and brought down Mappe (guitarist Mats Björkman) and Janne (Lindh, the drummer) to the west-coast for a special appearance. I am not too far out by stating that Ancient Dreams meant something in the reformation of Candlemass, they pushed a little. Hymn To The Ancient carry on the same concept they had for Ancient Dreams. Playing Game Of Pain, Death In Paradise and Ancient Sins is more salutations to the classic Doommasters. Frontman and drummer on this demo Tomas Eriksson is Messiah Marcolin’s unknown brother, he proved that in Ancient Dreams and he carries on even here. Beside Candlemass that is the strongest reflection I would also say Solitude Aeturnus and fellow Swedish doomsters Memory Garden. Hymn To The Ancient have made a excellent piece of Epic Doom.
