Coming at us with fifteen intense metalcore tracks, Massachusetts straight edge band Embrace Today, unleash their debut album recorded by the legendary Kurt
Ballou and also includes impressive artwork by Jacob Bannon. This is simply an immense and unadulterated demonstration of flat out tough-guy style hardcore. From the outset to the close, it hurls fast paced rhythms, heavy chugging guitars and intense full-on screaming and shouting vocals. Its straight forward metal hardcore with no frills deviations or complications, performed at a breakneck speed – and like swimming under water – there is nowhere to take a breath. Individual tracks are irrelevant here – with the longest lasting 2:13 but the average is more like 1:45 – it’s the whole experience that’s more important. And that experience is a fierce confrontation that leaves you feeling like you’ve been involved in a fist fight, with many short sharp punches – most of them landing heavy. The chugga chugga guitars and searing vocals come at you like some insane sort of tag-team and you run out of space to duck. This is one of the most intense albums to come our way and cannot fail but to blow you away – Embrace Today are like a severely pissed off Hatebreed – on speed. To put it simply, if you were to collect the testosterone from an entire rugby team, and inject it into a rabid dog just before you kick it in the balls – it would still only appear to be mildly irritated compared to how angry this band sounds! This is more than a musical slap around the face – it hits hard enough to move your nose around by your ear. You have been advised!

5.0 out of 5 stars This band has matured,
And it shows.
They’ve moved to a much more metallic sound, and it works out nicely.

This band is aggressive – very aggressive. Thundering bass and percussion, screaming vocals, thick guitar.

It’s very much a Deathwish release, and fits their catalogue perfectly – a cross of hardcore and metal. You probably already know if you like this, if you’re on the fence it’s worth checking out mp3s first.

If your a fan of hardcore with a little more of an edge, though, this is wholeheartedly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars a GREAT hardcore band?,
What is this? A real hardcore band… and they are good? This band is what keeps good hardcore still going – just straight forward hardcore with no crap thrown into it. Pissed off, fast, and furious. This cd is definitely worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Embrace Today,
Soldiers is by far the best album the group has come out with. Steve has brought his singing to a new level. Andy has brought his drumming to a speed next to impossible to keep up with. The addition of Ben was one of the best things they could have done for the band. Support these guys
