Dina Carroll (born Geraldine Carroll, 21 August 1968, Newmarket, Suffolk) is an English singer of Scottish and African American descent who had a string of hits from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.
“So Close” is a 1992 song by UK artist Dina Carroll. It is a ballad and was released as the third single from her album by the same name. Nigel Lowis produced the song and it peaked at number 20 in the UK Singles Chart. The music video sees Carroll performing in Apollo Theatre. It was directed by German feature film director and producer Marcus Nispel. Billboard described the song as a “plush ballad”. They wrote that “Carroll’s rich and appealing alto is cushioned by soft keyboard lines and warm backing harmonies.
