Bullet are classic German heavy metal in the tradition of early Scorpions and Accept. “Look Out” starts the album off with a sound not unlike something you might have expected to hear on one of the early 80s Scorpions albums. “Drunken Nights” is a slow, heavy romp that similarly has that classic 80s German sound. Bullet have a bit of a 1970s influence as well. The rock and roll anthem, “I Sold My Soul to Rock ‘n’ Roll” is a clear indication of their 70s roots. The title track, “One Way Ticket” and “Down by the Neonlights” all rock hard and heavy, and again returns the band to that classic German sound similar to Accept or even early Grave Digger. “Take You Out Tonight” has hints of the 70s metal influences again. “All I Need is You” could almost be mistaken for an early Accept song. Its heavy and has a killer groove. Really, the only track that hints at anything less than pure unadulterated heavy metal is the ballad closer “Baby We Can Talk”. Vocalist Klaus Thiel has a high, shrill, and crackly voice that works well with this working mans heavy metal. Comparisons to early Udo Dirkschneider wouldn’t be far off, though he has a considerable amount of Bon Scott influence as well. Considering that the album was produced by famous German producer/engineer Dieter Dierks, the comparisons to Scorpions and Accept become even more obvious. “Wild Thing” is a cover of Chip Taylor classic.

Its also notable that bassist Fitty Wienhold has gone on to become a big part of U.D.O. and guitarist Jürgen Graf also was a part of U.D.O. for a while in the late 1990s. Fans of classic heavy metal should do themselves a favor and look into this band.

Ah yes, summertime Teutonia!  Remember how those old Scorpions albums always had a couple of summer-y anthems that made you feel like rolling down the car window and cruising down the boulevard with the stereo cranked?  Songs like Arizona and Big City Nights?  Well, what if I told you that another German band had a similar approach, but with a coarse presentation similar to Accept?  Well, that’s how I think of Bullet.  These guys had a knack for good time Classic Heavy Metal with big juicy choruses.  They could also drive it on home with some nasty attitude.  Like Accept with party hats.  Favorites here include the rockin’ Down By The Neonlights and the irresistible Midnight Stalker.  Another highlight is Drunken Nights.  Elsewhere, Baby We Can Talk is a decent ballad, and No Mercy goes for the throat.

love this album! Great German metal band. The singer sounds like Udo from Accept, KROKUS or HEAVEN from Australia, but Bullet has a lot more melody. ‘All I Need is You’ is the perfect song to blast in your car. It rocks!

No Mercy is better than a whole bunch of Krokus and Heaven albums put together! It’s definitely worth buying. They were the greatest!!! Listen to Coldhearted woman, Breakfast in heaven, All I need is you, Gimme some power,…. I definitely rate them 10/10!!!!!

no mercy is a fistfull of superb melodic rocker songs as down by the neonlights, one way ticket, midnight stalker, sold my soul, and so on indicate. The boys and d.dierks did a great job. This music is timeless. definitely worth buying .

What a great LP! this Album is brilliant. Bullet should be as big as lame ass Metallica was all these years. But sometimes the market shows No Mercy to truly talented and gifted musicians like these guys. I wonder what the leadsinger is doing right now. My favorites: Down by the neonlights and Sold my Soul.

Yeah this album rocks. I listen to it right now as I writing. Its one of the greatest from German bands in the early 80`s.

Great album! The singer reminds me of Udo while the band sounds like a mix of Scorpions and early Waysted. Raw, powerful hard rock with my favs being Look Out, No Mercy and All I Need Is You.

It does sound a lot like the Aussie band, Heaven. A bit less Krokus-ish and with more of a personal feeling Enjoyable because the songs have that catchy feel.
