5.0 out of 5 stars 1980s UFO at the top of their game.,
Too long out of print. This set storms along. Remember the 1980s when Heavy Metal was not a dirty term? UFO always developed their sound album to album. On Mechanix they take their brand of Hard Rock & show the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal upstarts how to do it. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars an unappreciated classic in its own right,
like the other two albums before it (no place to run, the wild, the willing , and the innocent) Mechanix is one of them albums that fans will either love/hate since its like a game of football when a team sells their brilliant but erratic star performer to another club and bring somebody else in as a replacement who is nothing like the former is bound to come in for some criticism expecting a player who is more of a grafter to replicate the silky skills of him he has just replaced and that is the case for Paul Chapman.
his grittier guitar playing is evident on “”we belong to the night”” which is a fist pounding rocker with Phil Mogg and the boys giving it what for whilst adding a touch of flair to “”let it rain”” and class to the two other best songs Neil Carter wrote with the two above “”the writer”” and “”doing it all for you”” which showed they coped well without their six stringer six shooter. Just a shame people where more interested in counting off the days till mickeys return.”
