Syron Vanes came into being in 1981, at a time when few Swedish metal bands were doing much of anything at a global level. Eventually they signed to the English label Ebony Records, who for some reason deemed it necessary for the members to assume rockstar-ish stage names (Stephen Mavrock, Rimmy Hunter, and the like). Two albums were released in the mid-eighties on Ebony, with the début Bringer Of Evil being a cross between a rough NWOBHM style and a more accessible American hard rock style, and the follow-up Revenge tilting a bit more toward hard rock, as evidenced by song titles and the backing vocal choruses.

Syron Vanes was one of the early Swedish heavy metal bands that received way too little attention (even though the booklet claims the début sold over 100 000 copies). Back in the day they released two albums on Ebony Records.
I was actually very positively surprised when putting on the bands first effort, Bringer Of Evil. This is (and was) really really good stuff! Classic NWoBHM influenced heavy metal with great vocals, killer guitar playing and song material that still feels accurate. A really strong début album indeed!
