“Now if you like classic 70s rock like Black Sabbath riffing with a bit of Grand Funk Railroad and the more modern approach of Soundgarden and Monster Magnet, you will love this. The riffs are very slow and heavy with some superb bass playing adding depth.”

“Somewhere between Kyuss, The Cult, Deep Purple and Soundgarden you might want to place this music. Its innovative and has its’ own style where cool blokes with long hair drink beer and shake their hair to the rhythm of the beat and the girls dressed up in leather are waiting to be taken for a ride on the back of their Harleys outside.”

KILLER cover of the Grease hit “You’re the one that I want”.

5.0 out of 5 stars at last something fresh from the stoner rock arena,
Spoiler have done something special here – while remaining true to the dirty riffage and spaced-out instrumental sections that make stoner rock what it is, they’ve managed to steer away from some of the more tired aspects of the genre and really put their own spin on things. The vocals of Jascha can be soaring and Zeppelin-esque, but also surprisingly understated at times; very refreshing and this fits around the equally changable mood of the guitar nicely (think Orange Goblin but with more dynamics and melody). Tracks like ‘Jack’ and the Grease cover ‘Electrifying’ remain firmly tongue in cheek, which is a nice break from the emotional tension of tracks like ‘Wear Me Out’. The stand out track on the album has to be ‘Improved Razorblades’ just because of its sheer scope and ‘epic-ness’. The bass playing is tight and the drums swing nicely with the vocals and guitar from the mind-bogglingly simple (an effective device most stoner bands seem to ignore), to crashy, funky, hittin everything in sight. The real strength of this album is its variety of melody (3-part hormonies) and riffs (chug-a-chug screech), and along with Queens of the Stoneage, Spoiler are doing a good job at keeping real rock alive and well.
