Bang Tango was one of LA’s most successful groups from the tail end of the L.A . metal scene and this music is currently enjoying a renaissance as fans rediscover their favorite bands of the era. Few of these artists are as on top of their game in the way Bang Tango is today, as their hard rocking new CD “Ready To Go ” reveals.

5.0 out of 5 stars They Are Still Better Than Most Of The Others,
Why this band didn’t make it and hold their ground after the 80s backlash is beyond me. They were never a typical “Hair Band” and the bass that they had was monstrous.

Now this CD doesn’t have the funk any-more but this is solid Rock. No flash, no grunge, no alt/nu metal. Its just straight up rock in the vein of AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses. It has two weak tracks that I could have lived without but then I would have complained it was too short. So I will live.

If you liked them in the past and you still like strong rock or love to play air guitar, well then pick this up. This is a very solid release that doesn’t scream has-beens like many returns that you hear today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joe Leste Returns With a Vengeance,
Joe Leste has re-formed Bang Tango with some of his new buds and released possibly his most commercially viable albums to date. Written and recorded in about 2 weeks while waiting for mixing and production to get under-way for the new Beautiful Creatures album “Deuce”, Joe and BC band mates Alex Grossi (lead guitar, Matt Star (drums), Anthony Focx (rhythm guitar) teamed up with Curtis Roach (bass) to bang out one of the most solid hard rock albums to come out of LA in recent years. Taking a sound and writing style from the pre-grunge era, these guys have found a way to make it sound current without depressing you or using the typical nu metal tricks that have overstayed their welcome. This album has something for everyone, blistering (yet melodic) guitar solos, metal anthems, catchy hooks, and the long forgotten power ballad. By the second time through, you will find yourself singing along with Joe and the boys. The opening track, “Ready to Go” kicks thing off with a hint at whats to come. With the dirty bluesy, borderline Glam sound that made LAs rock club scene famous in the 80s, Alex Grossi pumps out riffs and solos that show us why he is one of the most in demand guitarists on the west coast. On this album, he uses a style that is very similar to Gilby Clarkes, which is fitting considering G’N’Rs Dizzy Reed plays on 2 tracks and former Motley Crue singer and Gilby collaborator John Corabi co-wrote 2 other songs. Dizzy plays piano and organ on “Love the Life (I Live, Live the Life I Love)”, a song that anyone who has make a living playing the music they love can relate to. “Most Important Thing” is the type of power ballad that could be a crossover hit if Shrapnel had the staff to give it the push it deserves, it would be at home on any AOR, adult contemporary, or easy listening station. Weather you are a Bang Tango or a Beautiful Creatures fan or just love non-depressing metal, this disc will soon be a favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Old Fashioned Rock n Roll,
This CD is for anyone who just likes good old fashioned rock n roll. There is no nu-metal, no hate lyrics. This is just guitars and vocals with the occasional keyboard. It is refreshing to hear what I consider real music again. It is not ground breaking, but the songs are likely to stick in your mind. And for those of you who were Bang Tango fans in the past, this is their best offering. So if you want a great CD, buy this you won’t be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars One kick ass CD!,
Once again Joe Leste surprises me with his vocal abilities. Not only does this CD have great songs that are catchy and hard rock but Joes voice gives an emotional edge to each song that will truly blow you away and leave you wanting to hear more. Alex Grossi and Anthony Focx are amazing with the guitars and the rhythm of Chris “Curtis” Roachs bass blends beautifully with Matt Starrs drums. This is one CD where you can definitely hear and feel the great collaboration of the band. Its not just another CD…IT IS A WORK OF ART!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressive Outing By a Real Rock ‘n’ Roll Band,
I like Bang Tango. And, when I saw they had a new CD out, I was quite curious and decided to give it a spin. Boy, I’m glad I did!

Something about this record just seemed very rock ‘n’ roll to me just by the title and the packaging. So when I held it in my hand, I couldn’t wait to rip it open and pop it in. And, from the first guitar lick, I knew I made the right choice. Its very metal. Very cool indeed.

Joe Leste returns to his original band of fame as he releases this record after a highly acclaimed release by Beautiful Creatures, his other band. This album, though, is Bang Tango and not Beautiful Creatures. And, that is not a bad thing. While I liked Beautiful Creatures, a slightly more melodic album is more befitting the Bang Tango name and legacy. And, it delivers!

As I said, the opening cut titled Ready to Go really kicks off the album in a great way and the energy stays true throughout the record. Track 3 titled It Ain’t Easy might possibly be the best song on the record as it has the best guitar and musical bridge I’ve heard in years. That solo really makes the song and frankly the song should be played on the radio if there were any justice in rock ‘n’ roll.

Rainy Day and Most Important Thing are two beautiful songs with Rainy Day actually sounding a bit like a heavier version of the late Beatles sound and a sound attributed to Guns N’ Roses as well. Great musicianship as I complimented in It Ain’t Easy are on display here and once again it is criminal that Rainy Day isn’t in heavy rotation at every real rock channel in America.

Other great stand-out songs include The Other Side, She Knows Better, and Save Myself for You. All of these songs have a different feel with different range by Joe Leste but a constant high quality rock ‘n’ roll feel that does not apologize for being rock ‘n’ roll complete with solos and attitude.

You’ll get a kick out of Bang Tangos Ready to Go. If you are a Bang Tango fan, this album is what all the real rock bands that came from their genre should sound like in new releases. Melodic, hard, and catchy. There is no futile attempts to be “cool” on this record. It just feels like Leste wanted to do something for himself and for the Bang Tango fans. And, I am appreciative of it! Pick this and Deuce up together!
