TED NUGENT: Scream Dream LP Check samples

Scream Dream is a 1980 rock album by Ted Nugent, released by Epic Records.

Awriiiiiight, uh ze WANGO ze TANGO! One, two, three, four!”” With that shriek and bludgeoning, rudimentary tandem guitar and bass riffing, Ted Nugent launches his 1980 album Scream Dream with “”Wango Tango.”” Sweaty Teddy ain’t one for subtlety and in addition to unleashing his six-string thunder on this wickedly catchy “”song,”” he lets loose with a slobbering, maniacal spoken section in the middle. Nugent plays a mean guitar, and that really what people want to hear. His wicked playing sounds different from most of his fellow hard rock and heavy metal axemen due to his extensive use of warm-sounding, hollow-body Gibson Byrdland guitars. “”Scream Dream”” is darn near as addictive as “”Wango Tango.”” The slippery mid-tempo groove of “”Hard as Nails”” hints at Nugent R&B influences, but the funky bass and throaty vocals on “”Terminus Eldorado”” makes them crystal clear. “”Flesh & Blood”” is a taut, simple rocker. Early 1950s-styled, Chuck Berry-like rock & roll is the basis for “”I Gotta Move”” and “”Don’t Cry (I’ll Be Back Before You Know It Baby),”” and both are sung by rhythm guitarist Charlie Huhn. Drummer/producer Cliff Davies gets to sing “”Come and Get It.”” “”Scream Dream”” and “”Wango Tango”” are two of the Motor City Madman better tunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Madcap rock and roll,
This is a stand out album from Ted in more ways than one. His playing is more 50 rock and roll than 80 metal though it has a good sprinkling of attitude, volume and aggression. He continues to confirm himself as an excellent guitarist but also added some serious comical performances in here as well. Some pundits believed that this album just confirmed him as being completely bonkers; only waiting for the men in the white coats to come and administer some sedative but the same people couldn’t see beyond the loin cloths and unusual song subject matter. Only Ted could conceive of it; and get away with it. Totally unique to this day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scream Dream still great after all these years.,
I can honestly say this is a great album and it aged really really well.Ted sounds as manic as I remember and that tongue in cheek humour just pours out from the speakers and wallops you straight between the eyes,oh yeah this is seriously good. The opener Wango Tango is just an all time classic and with Ted encouraging his baby to imagine her face is a Maserati the tone is set for the rest of the album. This is what rock music is all about tongue in cheek fun,let your hair down and let it all hang out life’s too short. The whole album is great but standout cuts are the aforementioned Wango Tango, Scream Dream, Flesh and Blood and Terminus Eldorado. My recommendation, if you like your music larger than life and you have a sense of humour buy this! Teds no slouch when it comes cranking the axe either fans of good old fashioned no frills great tunes you need this in your life!!”
