Motorbaby is fronted by video model Sharon Middendorf and Rise is the band’s second album. She has a kind of Beverly D’Angelo look about her, and her breasts are well pronounced in the black number she’s wearing on the back CD sleeve photo. Five years in the making, Middendorf decided to release it her way and not bother with shopping it around to the majors. In “”Rise”” Tony Visconti (most famous for his years with Bowie and T. Rex). lays down some very nice keyboard and guitar textures, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Middendorf also has some impressive help from Kathy Valentine (The Go-Go’s, Delphines) on “”So Surprised”” which is licensed by MTV for their show “”Tough Enough!”” Other contributors include Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Aerosmith) and Eve Nelson (Sandra Bernhart, Heather Nova).
