5.0 out of 5 stars One of their BEST, regardless of what others say!,
Having been a Y&T fan since 1981, like many of you, I saw the progression from the hard rock metal sound of the first 4 A&M releases to a more polished and commercial sound, as found on Contagious. Regardless of the stylistic change found on this, this is one seriously great disc! As good as the the first 4 Y&T releases are, I am glad they shifted gears a bit. Who wants a band to make the same album several times (not that ANY of their albums sound the same)? Not me!
There are some high class rock songs (Fight For Your Life, Armed & Dangerous, Eyes Of A Stranger….actually, I really like the entire cd, with the exception of ‘The Kid Goes Crazy’). The production is really good, the band are tight, Dave voice and guitar playing are in amazing form (check out the solos on ‘Fight’, ‘A&D’, ‘Eyes’ and the AMAZINGLY soulful instrumental ‘I’ll Cry’…it does not get much better than this!), Jimmy drumming is great, the songs are excellent. What more can you ask for? Do yourself a favor and check this out.
5.0 out of 5 stars CONTAGIOUS ROCKS & MOVES NON STOP!!!!!,
Oh my, what an album. This 1 here is if not the best Y&T cd then within the top 5. The opening track CONTAGIOUS rocks, I still remeber the video. Moving down the line of songs into THE KID GOES CRAZY was such a good party song, what rock was about in this time era, which I miss so much. Now moving into the last lyrical song of EYES OF A STRANGER and closing with I’LL CRY FOR YOU. I’d be surprised to hear that a Y&T fan doesn’t have this. If you are a first time listener of Y&T, then this is the LP to have. It great guitar work, drumming, and lyrics make this the Y&T album to have, so BUY IT!!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars infectious as well,
This to me this was their last great album. Songs like rhythm or not stand out contagious as well as some of the others. Really worth having in your collection.
5.0 out of 5 stars Please,
I keep seeing reviews where people put down everything Y&T did after Mean Streak. Please. Here a shocker for those people. In Rock We Trust, and Contagious will forever be my favorite albums by this band. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
5.0 out of 5 stars UNDERRATED CLASSIC,
THIS WAS THE FIRST Y&T ALBUM THAT I CAME ACROSS AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN UNDERRATED MAYBE BECAUSE IN COMPARISON TO THE AWESOME TRILOGY OF “”EARTHSHAKER””, “”BLACK TIGER”” AND “”MEANSTREAK””. THIS ALBUM IS GREAT,THE ADDITION OF JIMMY DEGRASSO AT THE TIME WAS VERY WISE FOR IT HAS AN AWESOME DRUM SOUND.THE GUITAR PLAYING IS OUT OF HAND AS USUAL.NOTEWORTHY IS ALSO THAT IT WOULD BE JOEY ALVES’LAST RECORDING WITH THE BAND.ALL THE SONGS ARE GREAT MAYBE FOR THE EXCEPTION OF “”THE KID GOES CRAZY”” WHICH I’M NOT TOO CRAZY ABOUT.TAKE IT FROM A LONG TIME Y&T FAN.JUST AS GREAT AS THE FIRST 3 ALBUMS.
5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best bands who didn’t get what they deserved in the biz…but had fun doing it!,
Nothing more to say..if you are a fan, you KNOW what I am talking about. Each band member oozed more talent than a lot of “”known”” bands out there. DAVE, PHIL,JIMMY and STEPH (and talented help, as well) were a kick to see each and every time; how passionate they were /are about their music and how much they appreciate(d) their fans…thank you to all of their families for their support and encouragement so that they could make their mark in the music world to make it possible for me to write my review! PHIL is deeply missed but thank god was with us for as long as he was to teach every one out there how it really done!
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT LP,
Y & T is a rockin’ band that has been around for a long time. This LP is another example of the slick hard sound that this band is known for. Fantastic LP
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Memories,
Love to listen to music that just makes your most inner person feel good and want to keep on rockin.
5.0 out of 5 stars Kick ASS,
It a shame no one understands Dave magic and extraordinary guitar playing. They have never gotten the praise and recognition they so greatly deserve. You non-musician idiots ragging on this album… morons.
5.0 out of 5 stars Y&T Never Fails,
Y&T will never fail. One of many great albums from the boys.
