Absolutely fantastic.
While browsing a local record store, not finding anything that seemed interesting, I came across this album. From the cover I knew it was some form of heavy/power metal, but I’d never heard of the band before. So I decided to give it a shot and I bought it.

Upon first listen I was totally blown away. This is everything that a power metal release should be. The production is super clean, the guitars are great, and this is all complimented by Sven D’Anna’s great vocals. As far as content goes, I guess its pretty standard stuff — unicorns, swords, battles, etc. But its done so well that it doesn’t really affect the overall greatness of the album.

What stands out the most to me is not the melodies, vocals, etc. — but the speed of this album is quite great. Almost every song is very upbeat and fast paced, making it that much more enjoyable and accessible. Again, I can’t recommend this release enough to those who enjoy the genre. Favorite tracks include, “Dark Wings”, “Mighty Wizard”, “A Nice Day To Die”, and “Believe In Metal.” Check this album out, it does not disappoint.

Holy Shit!
Wow… this album certainly took me by surprise! After the silly tr00 Battle of Metal here comes an album that simply drags you into oblivion.
What we have here, people is 100% genuine “true metal”. Yes, I said true metal, since they call themselves like this, I can’t really blame them, they’ve proven what they’re made of. (Steel. heh)

Ok… so what does this bloody album sound like anyhow? Well, its probably a classic power/speed act from Germany, similar to Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Helloween, Blind Guardian, and stuff like that, but sounds nothing alike those bands, it sounds FASTER! This little jewel may be called a Manowar on speed, but being like… 100 times faster, its far beyond that. Remember Sons of Darkness? Yes… the crazy over the top choruses, unbelievably catchy… well they’re here. The solos too, are perfect, reminding me a bit of Accept or Grave Digger – slow(or fast 😀 ) and pretty much melodic. D’Anna knows his place here, singing masterfully and getting those incredibly high notes without problem, hes the head of this band, dominating above all.

Well… thats about it about the music… The songs are another thing. There is a foolish song here though, and that’s why this album did not get more. Unicorn pretty much is a ballad with some cheesy lyrics, the solo is great, though, and the song is filled with tempo changes. It sounds good, but didn’t do it for me, simply. Ok… the silly little intro on Hammer, Bow… bla bla is stupid, but the song is simply amazing, so I’ll ignore the start.
The greatest is Mighty Wizard, simply because of the raging riffs and kickass chorus. This band is one fucking show, dammit… Gladiators of Steel, Believe In Metal, Bound By Metal, Spill the Blood of our Enemies…. well you got it by now… this simply breaks your neck.

If you’re a nasty metalhead saying true is gay, well… that’s your problem, this band is loved or hated. Nothing in between.
For me… it works, even too good.

A hammer made of unbreakable stone
A bow made of black wood
With a string of white light
An axe made of silver, gold and diamonds
And a sword made of steel
Tempered in the sea of the gods

Hail the new lords, chosen by the dragon lords
Hail them, who are fighting with the weapons of the gods

Hammer, bow, axe and sword; see the weapons of the gods
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; feel the power of their lords

Hammer, bow, axe and sword; hammer, bow, axe and sword
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; hammer, bow, axe and sword
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; the weapons of the gods

A dwarf smithed these four eternal weapons
With the help of the wizard he gave them magic power
It was a small gift for the mighty gods
But for the thunderwarriors it was the gift of power

Hail the new lords, chosen by the dragon lords
Hail them, who are fighting with the weapons of the gods

Hammer, bow, axe and sword; see the weapons of the gods
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; feel the power of their lords

Hammer, bow, axe and sword; hammer, bow, axe and sword
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; hammer, bow, axe and sword
Hammer, bow, axe and sword; the weapons of the gods
Hail the new lords, chosen by the dragon lords
Hail them, who are fighting with the weapons of the gods
