Apocalypse Dudes is the 1998 album from Norwegian band Turbonegro, their fourth full-length.
Before Apocalypse Dudes, Turbonegro was an underground band, but after the release of this album, their popularity exploded. This was their last album before breaking up, before re-forming in 2002, closely followed by the release of Scandinavian Leather.
Apocalypse Dudes, the first part of the so-called Apocalypse trilogy.

The album starts slowly with “The Age of Pamparius”, and ending strongly with “Good Head”.
Apocalypse Dudes presents Turbonegros trademark deathpunk sound, “a new resurgence of glam rock’n’roll” as the Boomba announcement put it – much due to guitarist Euroboy, who was playing with the band live since 1996.
Moshable magazine commented: “Apocalypse Dudes is the perfect mix of classic 70s US punk / rock’n’roll like The Dictators, The Heartbreakers & The Ramones… every tune on this release is fucking brilliant”. Even Jello Biafra was quoted as saying, “the new Turbonegro record is possibly the most important European record ever.”
The original Boomba announcement from April, 1998 states: “This my friends, is a virtually perfect record! Excellent production- a huge, FAT sound; lots of power and excellent songs that you can’t get out of your head. Not one let down through 47 minutes of music!! This is not an underground tip !! ‘Apocalypse Dudes’ appeals to the masses. From punk to metal to mainstream, “Apocalypse Dudes” has something for everyone.”

Really more about (…)-kicking rock & roll
My basic thesis is that this is a great (and archetypal) showing from a band that does not appear to have been ready-hatched for your 14-year-old nephew by the great music industry Engine of Mediocrity.
TN comes at you nice and hard with a surprising melodic undertone in there that keeps the music mentally interesting. Its definitely not your emo-wuss bilge that makes you beg the band to please grow up, nor is it the trite distorto-crunch mess with some dude trying to growl like hes actually a tough guy.
This is for those of you who would like to get your (…) kicked but would rather not feel like you are a) still working through your teen angst; b) trying to annoy and/or scare your parents (although this will do plenty of that); or c) trying to escape the taint of your middle-class, hyper-feminized, neo-suburban, gotta-go-to-model-UN-so-I-can-get-into-Harvard, the-losers-at-the-soccer-tournament-should-get-trophies-too, upbringing by listening to “hardcore” music.

Death punk? nah….this is full of life.
The death punk genre tag does this band no service. The rock n roll the Turbonegro machine pumps out is full of life and everyone that listens to this masterpiece should be thankful. Of course this band is not serious, but neither were the Ramones and Damned for the most part. Thats what makes this genius.. its fun and its by no means dumb. While the rest of the rock world is truely obsessed by the dark side of life…this is a celebration of everything that made the early punk rock bands so cool.

Best Deathpunk Album ever!!!
Selfdestructo Bust, Get it on, Prince of the Rodeo and the Age of Pamparius.
