The NIGHT TERRORS: S/T
The Night Terrors stumbled forth onto the Melbourne rock scene when old bandmates Miles Brown and Mr. Tim Picone decided to create a band with a theremin organ and no vocals and progress in loud and spookie direction. The band released their debut mini-CD demo “”Shifter/Butter”” in early 2001, and contributed soundtrack material for the Sci/Fi Lo/Fi epic “”Dead Greg””. Amid worrying comparisons to Yes, King Crimson, Goblin etc, the new year saw the band lurching forward into a distinctly heavier and moodier sound, with certain feet moving perilously close to certain foldbacks. To avoid evolving into a fully fledged hair-metal outfit, The Terrors stripped back their sound and debuted their accoustic side project, “”The Night Tremors””, to widespread polite applause. Meanwhile the Terrors were going from strength to strength and hit the studios with Mr. Neil “”Two-bit kid”” Thomason to record their debut release. What resulted was their self-titled album: tracks of pure terror and tasteful keyboards.
