Now I can certainly remember hearing the extended versions of “She Sells Sanctuary” and “Rain” at pretty much any club venue during the 80’s, and those particular songs are STILL a mainstay of many a retro DJ’s spin bag. The Cult built quite a following in their “pre-metal” phase by throwing these mixes to the masses to dance to. You didn’t go to a New Wave club without having these songs virtually imprinted upon your brain at high volume.
The production is tight, the songs are classic, and the CD doesn’t overstay it’s welcome with any filler or fluff. Gotta get it if you want to relive a few of those heady days of lost youth, dancing the night away in some lost timeline somewhere, chasing that girl (or guy) with the purple, spiky hair and the leather jacket…….
5.0 out of 5 stars own ’em all!!!!,
Oh, just buy it! This is a great listen over and over.
No night out was complete, back in the late 80s, without the DJ spinning She Sells Sanctuary at the club. Good times, good memories, great song! This version of Rain is excellent as well. Enjoy!
