THE CONSPIRACY
Est..1988
Conceived in the mists of latter-day 20th Century by founder/singer/lyricist Duncan Pope and musician/guitarist/programmer/ engineer Dave Bell, The Conspiracy have become one of the most enduring & eclectic underground/independent groups in recent history. Theirs is a story of constant re-evaluation and steady development musically, lyrically and in technical quality.
~~~~~~
?Early /Analogue Years?(1988-96): The Conspiracy were a live band and had albums of original songs released on numerous Tape Labels world-wide, most notably Music & Elsewhere (M&E, UK). TC also released a ?Tribute to Neil Young? tape in aid of charity via the official NY fan-club. Members included D.Pope, D.Bell, Craig Swain, Mark Baker, Colin Leslie and Bill Jones.
The Best efforts from this 4-Track Portastudio period are available via GALLIPOLI RECORDS
~~~~~
In 1998 the Duncan Pope/ Dave Bell song-writing team was enhanced by the arrival of Clive Bray (Production/additional music), who brought an extra professional dimension to The Conspiracy?s increasingly dynamic sound, resulting in vinyl and CD releases on ?proper? indie record labels?.
The ?Digital Years? (1997-2005) have yielded tangible technical improvements, from analogue to 16 track digital studios; critical acclaim from ?Sound on Sound? and many fanzines, airplay on national radio and many releases .

TC are regarded as one of the top bands in the underground scene. Interested onlookers have included John Peel (R.I.P), TV Smith (ex- Adverts) and Mark E Smith (The Fall)?.It has been a long journey, but the best is coming soon.
