2002 album for hard rock act featuring ex-Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin & guitarist Dario Mollo (Crossbones/Voodoo Hill). Guests include Tony Franklin (Blue Murder/The Firm) on bass, Roberto Gualdi on drums & Dario Patti on keyboards. Ten tracks including, ‘Cry Myself To Death’, ‘Time To Kill’ & ‘Relax’. Frontiers Records.
I cannot say it enough, but some of the songs onĀ Dario MolloĀ &Ā Tony Martin‘s second Cage album are simply brilliant! The old-fashioned yet energetic Heavy A.O.R. was injected with enough pure Heavy Metal to make it sound extremely heavy when compared to other bands using the same types of choruses and song structures (namely FM Metal bands and AOR band. They were indeed among the first to get a new Metal subgenre going, called ‘Heavy AOR’). The guitar playing is finger lickin’ good as well. Another point worth mentioning are the powerful melodic vocals of ex-Black Sabbath’s Tony Martin who sometimes sounds very much likeĀ Ronnie James DioĀ (just listen to the track ‘Balance of Power’). Good production too. In short, it’ll be hard to improve this in the future.
According to yours truly the top songs on the album are the opening track ‘Terra Toria’, the up-tempo song ‘Balance of Power’ and theĀ Led Zeppelin-cover ‘Dazed and Confused’.

5.0 out of 5 stars just as great
Martin’s voice is beautiful again, specially in “”wind of change””. Another good thing in this album is the addition of bass player Tony Franklin who plays very good under Dario Mollo’s riffs. It’s a great CD as good as Black Sabbath’s TYR or Cross Purposes.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those who love real heavy metal,
If you liked the first release “”The cage I””, then you’ll love the second “”The cage II””. This follow up is even better than the previous and there are songs of very high quality like the fast rockers “”Overload”” and “”Guardian angel””. Tony Martin is singing excellent as usual and Dario Mollo is certainly a guitar player fit for in major league.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Tony Martin project,
I have been a Tony Martin fan since his days in Black Sabbath. Tony has a great rock voice that I can only compare to Don Dokken or Ray Gillen. Top notch!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music!,
The Cage 2 is a great album. Tony Martin (who used to sing in Black Sabbath) joins with guitarist Dario Mollo and makes a great album in true hard rock style. The vocals are very good and the band does some impressive work. It has a good classical feel to it.
The music isn’t that well known which is a shame and that’s probably why the album is so expensive. It’s worth the money but not much more.
Good tracks include: Overload, Life, Love, Everything, Wind Of Change and Theater Of Dreams.
