A really thoroughly researched compilation documenting the NWOBHM phenomenon’s rarer out reaches. 10 tracks licensed from rare and hard to find New Wave Of British Heavy Metal songs. This LP will appeal to all metal fans, and aficionados. This is for everyone into rock music history and anyone interested in British music – and culture history. Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Judas Priest and Saxon all got signed by majors and sold records galore, meanwhile bands in every village across England formed. Inspired by the energy and DIY attitude of the punk scene these acts recorded and released their records all on their own. The music heard on this LP has been treasured only by NWOBHM connoisseurs.

There are those who would have you believe that UK hard rock is in decline. Well, gathered onto the grooves of this compilation are ten acts who amply prove that, in rock ‘n’ roll terms, the British bulldog still possesses a sharp bite.
There is something to suit all tastes amongst this collection of up-&-at-’em tracks. You want uncompromising bullet-speed Metal? Try the genocidal fury of Newcastle trio Warfare on a cut that features a guest appearance from Venom guitarist Mantas, If it a more sedentary yet equally spearing sound you’re after, why not let Mansfield quartet Savage or quintet Persian Risk (who at one time featured Jon Deverill, now lead vocalist with the Tygers Of Pan Tang, & Phil Campbell, currently dishing out axe work with Motorhead) impale you with their voracious, yet tightly controlled, firepower.
Newcastle quintet Emerson & Liverpool five-some Marseille provide a smoothly suave strut, whilst Midlands trio Limelight & Bristol four-piece Jaguar include in a more sophisticated, yet equally bracing, approach. London mob Stratus (who boast ex-Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr plus former Praying Mantis guitarist/bassist, Tino & Chris Troy respectively, in their ranks) layer sugar-coated soft focusing onto a base of felonious riffs. Yorkshire Yeomen Baby Tuckoo (another five-some) & Di’Anno (a quintet led from the frontline by ex_Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno) indulge in firm-handed, energised splashes of colour.
