“The 012 would like it to be generally known that they have now sold out completely, but will be doing all they can to maintain that urban guerilla pop star image in the future.”
The 012 changed their name to World Domination Enterprises and then scored big indie-chart hits, including ‘Asbestos Lead Asbestos’, the original version of which can be found on this original 1984 album.
The 012 were Fuck Off supremo Kif Kifs group. More uncompromising messy noise fest, with more emphasis on UN-learning any musical technique available to them.
Includes the original version of Asbestos Lead Asbestos, as made famous by The 012s later incarnation, World Domination Enterprises.
Talking about weirdness? here’s their only LP. The band along with the hippy punkies Here and Now established in the late 70s the cassette label Fuck Off. They appeared in the compilations Weird Noise, We couldn’t agree on a title, Angst in my Pants. Weird Pere Ubu-ish post punk weirdness. The band later transformed to World Domination Enterprises.
