A little too edgy to be considered pop metal, Tesla were probably the least pretentious band of the genre. On Psychotic Supper, they focus on understated, bluesy hard rock, with an occasional acoustic guitar thrown in for variety. The result is well worth a listen, and this album contains some of their best material, including the anthemic “”Edison Medicine”” and the no-bull “”Call It What You Want.”” “”What You Give”” is a lovely, tender alternative to the syrupy power ballads that so many hard rock bands indulged in during the late ’80s and early ’90s. “”Song & Emotion,”” another slow song, is a tribute to the late Steve Clark of Def Leppard. Tesla favorite themes are evident on songs like “”Change in the Weather,”” “”Don’t De-Rock Me“” and “”Freedom Slaves,”” but “”Toke About It”” shows that they also retained their sense of humour.

Psychotic Supper is the third studio album from the American rock band Tesla, released in 1991. The album was certified platinum by RIAA on November 5th, 1993.

‘Edison Medicine’ (track 2) is one of Tesla finest.
‘Freedom Slaves’ is excellent; ‘Had Enough’ heavy riffing; ‘What You Give’ and ir It Up’ mellow and thoughtful; ‘Can’t Stop’ back up a notch to finish with a typical Tesla ditty ‘Toke About It’. ”

 One of the most underrated bands in rock. I love them! Real music: not this crap that ‘passes’ today.

Tesla were unfortunate. They were a bad ass band. They sound like a 1970’s hard rock band, similar in quality (if not style) to the likes of Guns N’ Roses and Thunder. Raw, powerful music. I’m glad they are still going.
