Starting life in 1993, TERRORIZER magazine was without doubt the most important magazine on extreme and underground metal during the 90s and arguably up until the late 00s. Not only did it feature bands that usually only appeared in obscure fanzines, but for the most part it offered well written interviews and features. The would continue life until the mid 2010s and while it had lost some ground to other magazines in its final years, it retained some of its early creators until the end. Contributors include Nick Moberly (author of our ‘Dead Sea Anthology’), Ester Segarra (creator of the ‘Ars Umbra’ book and photographer for many of our books), Ian Glasper (author of ‘Contract in Blood’ book) and Dayal Patterson (Cult Never Dies author).

It is not an exaggeration to say that most bands of note from the 1990s and 2000s were featured at some point and many of the interviews remain essential reading for fans of the bands and for those interested in the development of the metal genre in general. Such acts include:

SATYRICON, DEICIDE, NILE, ROTTING CHRIST, ULVER, PRIMORDIAL, VENOM, USURPER, DISSECTION, MARDUK, SODOM, GORGOROTH, KREATOR, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SAMAEL, ENSLAVED, IMMORTAL, DARK FUNERAL, SLAYER, WATAIN, IMPALED NAZARENE, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, NAPALM DEATH, VOIVOD, VON, MOTORHEAD, AUTOPSY, WINTERFYLLETH, KING DIAMOND, BOLT THROWER, ASPHYX, CYNIC, PENTAGRAM, USURPER, DECAPITATED, EXODUS, PARADISE LOST, OVERKILL, ESOTERIC, ARCTURUS, BEHEMOTH, ENTHRONED, VADER, ELECTRIC WIZARD, INCANTATION, USURPER, DISCHARGE, LIMBONIC ART, SENTENCED, CARPATHIAN FOREST, VALLENFYRE, ANATHEMA, MERCYFUL FATE, TORMENTOR, MOONSPELL, OPTHALAMIA, ABIGOR and more.
