Surprisingly nice slab of (private press) vinyl coming from this Finnish 3-piece. A frantic garagy psychedelic sound strongly rooted in the late 60’s and early 70’s, with good guitar work and with strong Doors, MC5, Grateful Dead influences. Song structure remniscent of ‘Moonlight Drive’ or ‘The End’ and a vocalist, that could well be Jim’s unknown ‘next of kin’ as result of a romantic ‘light my Fire’ tour of Finland ’68

The music of this Helsinki-based trio is sort of late 60’s/early 70’s styled (garage) rock with little psychedelic extras. The voice of singer/guitarist Severi Karila sounds at times very much like the vocalist Jim Morrison and they have taken rather much of influences from the Doors in other ways, as well. The chorus of the song called “”Stone Cold Morning”” reminds me of the Grateful Dead. “”Whip Song”” is so energetic that MC5 comes to mind. In “”Humanoia”” there is also a keyboard player and a mystical percussionist called Miquel Camarazzia… Severi’s voice works better on the more rocking numbers than on the ballads.

STASI COMBO -“ Reptile Twist Bestial Wail (Self released 2003)
VERY RARE (a few copies pressed on vinyl)

This 7 tracks mini LP (clocking at about half an hour) is the first (and only, I guess) release by Stasi Combo. The music of this Helsinki-based trio is sort of late 60’s/early 70’s styled (garage) rock with psychedelic extras. The band have taken rather much of influences from the Doors in other ways, as well. The chorus of the song called “”Stone Cold Morning”” reminds of the Grateful Dead. “”Whip Song”” is so energetic that MC5 comes to mind. In “”Humanoia”” there is also a keyboard player and a mystical percussionist called Miquel Camarazzia…
This is well recorded stuff and the album was pressed in a well crafted feature in a handful of copies mostly to be tendered to Record Companies in order to gain a recording deal that never came along. Itâs very rare but so obscure. Maybe a future sought after item…”
