This AOR/Melodic Rock gem was originally released in 1992 on the Duke Street label by Canadian. Nice mix or rockers and ballads. Undertow is the last of his solo albums

Multi-faceted songwriter-composer Stan Meissner career includes hits internationally as well as in both English and French Canada. Meissner has been a staff songwriter for more than 25 years, under contracts with BMG Music Publishing, Warner-Chappell Music and Irving-Almo/Universal Music, and has written for many international acts including Céline Dion, Lara Fabian, LeeAnn Womack, Eddie Money, Farmer Daughter, Ricochet, Rita Coolidge, BJ Thomas, Ben Orr (The Cars), Alias, Triumph, Darby Mills, Toronto and Lee Aaron among many others.

Stan Meissner is from Canada, a country that has put out some of the best AOR music ever made. This CD is no exception. This is one of the best AOR cd’s you will ever hear. There is not a filler track on the CD and the musicianship is top notch. If you like bands like Bryan Adams, Chicago, Jeff Paris, Michael Morales, Jimmy Harnen, Paul Janz and Jude Cole this cannot be missed. You will not regret buying this  is a classic.
a Canadian artist who had a hit with one chance off windows to light does it lyrically with undertow if you want a good listening album with words that have meaning this artist is one to own. i am wondering if he takes his own experiences and puts them to music. i have listened to both undertow and windows to light and the lyrics have hit me the music is diverse and enjoyable. A good one to own

hey! this is one of my personal favorite solo albums in many years stan meissner is a little genius, i mean the man can write excellent stuff and not sounding repetitive at all.

there are some very classy tunes in here but i do also recommend you to check out his earlier releases because they are very good too.thinking mans AOR!.

Well-crafted AOR indeed. A great CD that starts off with a bang thanks to “It’s No Secret”. Great uplifting chorus and big production! If you like Michael Morales, Paul Janz, Michael O’Brien, Steve Thompson, Tim Feehan, Jeff Paris, etc., this comes very highly recommended!

What i like about Stan\s music, it\s that it seems to be really hard to pick up a favourite song or album. This album is not a exception. Each and every track is great,

This is one of my all-time favourite CDs. Lots of different styles, “Its No Secret” is very Bryan Adams, “Someone Like You” is very Chicago sounding, “River of Fire” is smooth AOR, “The Lucky One” is like Jude Cole, but most importantly there’s not a bad song on the thing at all. This is essential

This is SUPERB!!.  Has to be one of my best buys ever !

Many different styles all over this one. Very Bryan Adams in spots. Very classy affair and impeccable AOR to say the least. You would do yourself a great favor in tracking this one down. It’s that good.

WONDERFUL CD!!GREAT ALBUM,GREAT PRODUCTION!!

I couldn’t agree more to these comments. Great release !! I love every song on this tape.

features his best tracks. ‘Its No Secret’ is an AOR classic, and with the likes of ‘If It Takes All Night’, ‘River Of Fire’ and ‘The Lucky One’, you can be pretty sure that this one is money well spent. Very good record by an artist overlooked by many. 8.5/10.

This is fantastic ! Superb A.O.R.”I Don’t Believe It’s Over” & “It’s No Secret” are pure A.O.R. jewels…It’s awesome from beggining to the end. Enjoy..this Canadian masterpiece.

Otro tremendo discazo de Stan. Para mí, su disco menos excelso pero que decir, es un clásico sin duda que valga. Si he de resumir en un tema pues elijo “I Don’t Believe It’s Over” Hermoso tema y la letra ni que decir, “River of Fire”(fina trompeta) y “If It Takes All Night”(a lo Michael Morales) mis súper-favoritas tambien. Recomendadísimo. 9/10

Have to agree with all the comments above. Fantastic album. Excellent AOR. Every song has something. They all blend in in the total vibe of the album. Great songwriting. Its No Secret, If it takes all Night, Day after Day and I don’t believe its over are my favs. But all songs are very very good. Great album. 90/100

In my opinion, One of best AOR release ever!! Every tracks are great. Stunning sounds first to last. Pure melodies with nice vocals, Well produced. Nice canadian AOR artist with Boulevard, Tim Feehan, Keven Jordan. And if you like this album…You should have to check out Tim Feehan’s 5th album “Pray For Rain” this one is very similar

Just brilliant

Mr Stan Meissner is the kind of artist that you love to hate..is like a “clone” version of Michael Bolton but without the grace of the aformentioned..anyway this guy is a delight(musically talking of course!..hahaha!!)..this album is excellent by all means but of course not so solid (Windows To Light is his best effort, even better than his debut one Dangerous Game, well at least 4 me)..about the songs..”It’s No Secret” is a very good song,”Someone Like You” is a nice ballad,”Shelter In The Heart” is also nice,a highlight of the album and “When I Look in Your Eyes”..then my faves are “River Of Fire”,”If It Takes All Night” and “Day After Day” which is a catchy one..anyway an interesting album 2 have.88/100

It’s No Secret is a hit.  I would rate this as his best.

After hearing It’s No Secret I decided to take the plunge and get the whole album. I was not disappointed. Meissner has a super voice that sticks in my head. the aforementioned It’s No Secret is one of the best AOR songs I’ve heard from anyone although I feel it could’ve done with slightly more guitars. River of Fire is a nice softer track: again, the vocals really shine; No Way Out is another winner and Meissner’s vocals are again very hard to get out of my head; Someone Like You: excellent ballad; If It Takes All Night is a melodic semi-ballad and another winner for me. Other highlights are When I Look In Your Eyes (another softer track) and I Don’t Believe It’s Over.
