Recorded in the Japanese capital city of Tokyo, “”Songs Of Silence”” leads through their both albums “”Ecliptica”” and “”Silence””, and it confronts the five guys from the north-Finnish Kemi with frenetic fans, who celebrate a big party with the North-ones. The whole Metal fans know anyhow, that the songs stand all quality tests.
The sound (band as well as fans) is very good, clear and powerful, also musically everything is right, only Toni has his problems with some higher parts, but for me, this shows the true live-character of this record, the authentic interpretation.

Now, if you’re a die-hard Sonata Arctica fan, stop reading this and go out and buy the damn thing. If Sonata Arctica owns your soul then that all you need to know before you buy it. The audience is completely enthusiastic and is constantly chanting and cheering; in essence, it every band dream audience. The instruments are played well, and the setlist is great, playing out like a Best Of Sonata Arctica album. There are also a few very cool parts in the album, including the performance of False News Travels Fast, the weird little piano ditty that leads into the opening of Full Moon (which is then played very well), Black Sheep, which sounds just like the studio version, and the very enthusiastic audience chanting during Wolf & Raven.
Buy it if you’re a fan.
5.0 out of 5 stars the best album in the world,
Sonata Arctica is one of the most versatile bands in the world. they do speed, they do thrash, they do prog, they do power ballads, they do it all! this is a great overview of their best tracks, such as My Land, Replica and my personal favourite, Wolf and Raven. the sound quality is very good for a live album, and the guitars/bass/drums/synths/voice sound astounding. Get this before any other album. Get it NOW!”
