There are two important things to know about Slav Simanic:

1) His music reflects a notably Christian/ Biblical background
2) He is a fine composer and an outstanding guitarist. On “”Let It Go,”” he downplays his instrumental mastery in support of his traditional, guitar-driven hard rock compositions. From standard riff-rock to charging hard rock gallops, neo-classical metal, and sweet balladry, with vocals from from renowned singer Phil Naro (24K, Talas). Slav is a terrific player, and his chops invigorate every track on “”Let It Go.”” Moreover, the four instrumental cuts in the set are absolutely excellent, from the mystically atmospheric, beautifully arranged “”Holy Holy Holy”” to the hard charging “”…The Almighty”” and the high-energy “”The Message Of Three Angels.”” Furthermore, this “”Let It Go”” package also includes Simanic’s previous album, the mostly-instrumental “”Water Of Life,”” as a bonus disc. “”Water Of Life”” gives more room for Simanic to display his gifts; he sounds a fair bit like Joe Satriani with some Euro influences (e.g., Michael Schenker or Gary Moore) mixed in. Yes, he’s that good. He’s even mature enough not to flaunt his tremendous technique at the expense of his songs, melodically grounded tunes that run a range of moods from Satriani-style floating atmosphere and hard-charging rock to Tony MacAlpine-ish neoclassical shred and Stanley Jordan-ish jazzy delicacy. The two albums together make a formidable package, well worth checking out. Well done Frontiers Records

Amazing Slav is amazing! “Water of Life” provides of dizzying array of sounds and techniques. He doesn’t hesitate in letting listeners hear how quickly he can play and and how well he can compose. “Water of Life” is largely instrumental, with the exception of “Days of Ease.” To be honest, when I first heard this song, it was my least favorite, but I soon grew to love it because the bridge was amazing. Generally, the album has a good mix on tempos. The next album, “Let It Go,” has more vocals and there a few instrumentals too. The lyrics are Christian on both CDs and I thank God for that. The music and the lyrics are great! Give it a listen!
