Senser, a politically-charged UK band, originally formed in South West London from a group of friends in the late 1980s, Nick Michaelson (guitar), Heitham Al-Sayed (vocals), Kerstin Haigh (vocals), John Morgan (drums), James Barrett (bass) and Alan “Haggis” Haggerty (engineer, producer, programmer) and in 1992 they were joined by Spiral Tribe D.J, Andy Clinton. The band soon forged an innovative, eclectic and explosive new style and began to support psychedelic rockers the Ozric Tentacles. Soon they had developed a following in their own right and they were invited to play at Glastonbury, this got the ball rolling in 1993 the band were signed to Ultimate records. Senser musical style has repeatedly been described as “uncategorisable”, but is nevertheless most often classified as Rapcore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still sounds fresh…,
I bought this in 1994 when it was released, on the strength of the witch’ single and found it again recently. It doesn’t sound at all dated, in fact I think it was quite ahead of its time with its rap/metal/dance mix. Recommended then. Buy it.

What can i say, they are fantastic way ahead of their time. Lets hope they don’t go too commercial!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this album,
For those of you into your Linkin Parks, Limp Biscuits, Papa Roaches… buy this album. For those of you not into the aforementioned bands… buy this album. They have been there, seen that, bought the T-shirt AND written the record long before any of our transatlantic cousins had even dreamed on mixing Hip-hop with Metal. This album truly is a class above anything the US bands have released – genuine quality rapping, social comment and musicianship mixed with a real feeling of not wishing to “”sell out”” pervade the entire record. But don’t worry, if you just want to switch off from the worlds problems and tap you feet (or perhaps bang you head), then this is still the one for you. I could bang on about the different tracks but what’s the point ? If you like your music challenging but always entertaining then you can’t go wrong. If of course you prefer Westlife, then go buy a Busted/Good Charlottes/Avril Livigne record – they’re all nice and jolly.
Senser, a politically charged rap rock UK band, originally formed in South West London from a group of friends in the late 1980s. The initial line-up comprised Nick Michaelson (guitar), Heitham Al-Sayed (vocals), Kerstin Haigh (vocals), John Morgan (drums), James Barrett (bass) and Alan “Hagos/Haggis” Haggarty (engineer, producer, programmer) and in 1992 they were joined by Spiral Tribe D.J, Andy Clinton. The band toured in support of psychedelic rockers the Ozric Tentacles in 1992. In 1993 the band were signed to Ultimate Records.
In 1993 Senser released two indie singles on Ultimate — “Eject” and “The Key”.
In March 1994 Senser released their third single, “Switch”, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 39. Senser’s first album, Stacked Up, was released in May 1994, and entered the UK Albums Chart at number 4.
At the beginning of 1995 Senser toured the UK supported by Skunk Anansie before setting off to tour the United States with Moby. It was during this tour that the band decided to split over musical differences. Al-Sayed and Morgan left to form a new band with Haggis called Lodestar.
The remaining members of Senser found a new drummer, Paul Soden, and set about writing Senser’s second album.
