Just One Night is the fourth pop rock album of British model-turned-singer Samantha Fox. For this 1991 album, she once again enlisted Full Force to produce her album and Robert Clivillés and David Cole of C+C Music Factory. The first single, “(Hurt Me, Hurt Me) But the Pants Stay On” had some radio airplay but failed to receive much attention, just like the albums second single, “Another Woman (Too Many People)”. The third single, “Just One Night”, and fourth single, “Spirit Of America”, received no attention at all. “Spirit Of America” + “What You See Is What You Get” rock with the best and are this records’ two BEST songs!!
For the title track she had to sing completely in the nude to get just the right ‘atmosphere’. She apparently sang it to Paul Stanley of KISS because Paul had written a song about her called ‘Heart of Stone’ which appeared on the KISS album ‘Revenge’.

5.0 out of 5 stars Samantha fox LP just one night. Did you know???
Not many people know this but Jennifer Lopez appears as a back up dancer in the promo for “Hurt Me, Hurt Me but the pants stay on…!”??
Again very USA influenced and polished production make this album another winner. If you love Sam fox you will love this great LP. I highly recommend this album 🙂👍
5.0 out of 5 stars Samtastic,
Sams 4th album and a great one at that. Unfortunately by this time the hits were drying up and neither the US single “but the pants stay on” or the UK single “Another Woman” failed to make a huge impression so no more singles were lifted from the album. This is a shame as over all this is a great LP, The “More more more/Love to love you baby” medley is worth the purchase price alone. It does sound more geared to the USA market and less ‘poppy’ than the “I wanna have some fun” LP. Samantha’s vocals sound clearer and stronger, or it could just be a case of great use of the latest studio technology.
5.0 out of 5 stars Album #4 brings it on more!
Samantha Fox was never a favorite of rock critics, and British journalists have been especially unkind. As ’80s and ’90s rock critics saw it, Fox was nothing more than a Barbie doll who made a fortune by exploiting sex and putting out commercial fluff that lacked substance. But then, Fox never claimed to be Joan Baez, and if one accepts Just One Night for what it is — fun for the sake of fun and entertainment for the sake of entertainment — this isn’t a bad album at all. Fox was usually smart enough to surround herself with capable producers, and this time, the producers include Full Force, Eric Foster White, and the Robert Clivilles/David Cole team (among others). Having a diverse group of producers enables Fox to provide a fairly diverse LP one that is dominated by dance-pop and urban contemporary but also contains some glossy pop/rock offerings. A sense of frivolous fun defines the album, and Fox goes for a party atmosphere whether she is celebrating ’70s disco (Andrea True Connection’s “More, More, More” and Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You, Baby” are united as a medley) or getting into a pop/rock groove on “What You See Is What You Get” and the Prince-minded “Pleasure Zone.” Just One Night is an essential release, that her more hardcore fans will appreciate.

5.0 out of 5 stars all time classic Sam
wow!!amazing sound, amazing songs and Samantha gave us her best in this album. I definitely recommend it!!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars The Fox’s ‘One Night’ Stand
She was an 80’s pin-up queen, notorious for her days as a topless Page 3 model in the UK. She’s also quite notorious for what could only be called ‘sleazy cheese’. Campy pop songs with a naughty vibe in them sung by a naughty girl.
Naughty Miss Fox opens the album up with the thumping club cut ‘Hurt Me! Hurt Me! (But The Pants Stay On)’. Silly and sleazy is the tune she’s playing here, and she plays it so well. Fun continues on with a medley of the disco classics ‘More More More’ and ‘Love To Love You Baby’, done in true Fox style. A clubby pop cut ‘Don’t Wait Up’, is a good track too, and is followed by the title cut, which is a funkier R&B attempt.
Sam’s next track sort of reminds me of Janet Jackson’s ‘Escapade’, and is called ‘Pleasure Zone’. The rest of this album all falls along the same vein as these tracks, fun club pop from the early 90’s. More good examples of this includes ‘Don’t Cry Wolf’ and ‘Saving It Up’, the latter of which reminds me of the Pebbles single ‘Giving You The Benefit’.
5.0 out of 5 stars Entering the Pleasure Zone
What makes this album good? What kind of styles she does? Since 1987, Sam decides to move from her rock roots to more of US Urban music by working with Full Force, Cheryil Pepsi Riley and Cilives and Cole and X Grilfriend. Now this album is good. Now Sam is very eclectic with her styles, like on this album, the first half were Freestyle and Hip Hop which was productions by Full Force and last 2 were rock styles except for what you see is what you get which sounds more pop. However, Sam continues to go what she does best is sexual teases with her moans and sexual lyrics like Hurt Me! Hurt Me! But The Pants Stays on, More More More/Love To Love you Baby, the title track and Saving It Up.
SAMANTHA FOX~~What You See Is What You Get
C’mon I’m in the mood
Not stoppin’, body rockin’
Whatever takes you through the night
A good heart is the place to start
And I’m giving that away
Make a deal, make it straight
When love makes a sound, it better not wait
I’m here for you and you know what to do
So slide up close to me
What you see
(What you see)
Is baby what you get
And if you save it up for me
Baby, I will show you
What this girl can do
Pick it up and throw it down
Move in close and turn around
I’m in the mood and you’re feeling it too
Theres no more left to say
What you see
(What you see)
Is baby what you get
Girl next door is what you got, honey
I’m a clean cut girl and I’m not being funny
I love to love and I love to give
To the one I’m with
Hold me close, don’t be scared
Its alright I won’t hurt you
Never let me go until its over
