formed in 1988, played the Los Angeles rock scene for a year with contemporaries such as Junkyard, The Four Horsemen, Rage Against the Machine and countless others. Warner Brothers signed the band in 1989 and they released their self-titled debut in 1990. Rhino Bucket to me is just one of few bands who I believe their first studio record to be their best. The self-titled debut album by the band of the same name. Released in 1990, it is notable for its Bon Scott-era AC/DC (AND -the band- Dirty Looks)sound. Anyone who can sound this good and this close to early AC/DC is awesome. Still have their own identity though. Sorted!

R.B have the best songs for drinkin’, ridin’, hangin out with the boys and remember long gone best times ever – early 90: AC/DC, Krokus, Dirty Looks, Kix, Rhino Bucket, Cinderella, Britny Fox, The Scream, Jackyl, X-Sinner, Kings Of the Sun, Nevada Beach…
The tracks “”One Night Stand” and “”Ride The Rhino”” continue to be staples of their live performances.

An interesting fact is that Brian Forsythe (formerly of KIX; he played on all their albums) is now Rhino Bucket new guitarist as of 2001 when the band regrouped.

the first RHINO BUCKET release, undoubtedly, their best.
Formed in Los Angeles during the closing years of the ’80s, Rhino Bucket was signed to Warner Brothers Records, this, their self-titled debut album “Rhino Bucket” was issued in 1990 to a great reaction from the rock fraternity.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In the case of Rhino Bucket that could almost be true, with their uncompromising brand of riff-rock making them a close second cousin to Bon Scott era AC/DC.
Not that they are mere impersonators of the great Australian rockers, far from it. For Rhino Bucket it’s all about the cut and thrust of rock at its most ferocious and untamed.

RHINO BUCKET - Rhino Bucket [Rock Candy Remaster] (2016) booklet

Despite of being formed in the middle of the Sunset Strip heyday, Rhino Bucket stuck out like a sore thumb by daring to ignore makeup and hairspray, adopting instead a rough hewn look and approach, a style that set them apart from the baying hordes looking to out glam each other.
This was a band content to steer clear of the usual clichés and focus instead on killer riffs and uncompromising energy.

Sure, the AC/DC comparisons might, to an extent, have been justified but the band’s relentless attack and pummelling riffs injected a fresh take on a tried and tested formula. With songs such as ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Train Ride’ and ‘Ride The Rhino’ they take no prisoners.
‘One Night Stand’ is one of the biggest hits by Rhino Bucket, and this tune is worth the price of admission by itself. This is album exemplifies what a hard rock record should be. You won’t find sugary ballads on this record. It rocks all the way through from beginning to end.
Strongly Recommended.
