Live at the Inferno is a live album by the heavy metal band Raven. It was released in 1984 on Megaforce Records. The song “Live at the Inferno” first appeared on Raven’s 1982 album Wiped Out. The album was intended to discourage the band’s former label, Neat Records, from putting out a greatest hits compilation. It was the band’s last release before signing with Atlantic Records.

According to John Gallagher the title of the bass solo, “I.G.A.R.B.O.,” stands for “I’ve got a rampant boner on.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Raven!!!! This bands kills all the others w/ Sheer Power!!!, I have known about this band since they came onto the scene in 1981. NWOBHM RULES!. I saw them live every single time they came anywhere within 3 states of where I live in Maryland. They are amazing live and the new album “ONE FOR ALL” reminds me of them in the heyday of Crash, Bang, Wallop and Wiped out… I remember they were so nuts on stage (the brothers, Gallagher) use to run at opposite end of the stage and smash into each other while playing and never missed a note. If any one wants to chat or drop me a line on Raven, feel free…. Or if you have any bootlegs and want to trade let me know…. LIVE AT THE INFERNO, FOREVER!!!!!! 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection!, This is pure metal power-trio at their zenith of creative music writing and live acting!! After this live recording, Raven was never the same again, loosing credibility. But “Live at Inferno” is a pure master-piece from the 80, it must be in your collection! 5.0 out of 5 stars Raven Lunatics, The best and only pukka HM band to come out of Newcastle, UK. I saw these boys live when supporting Accept back in 1981, and this album certainly brings the memories flooding back! The Gallagher brothers are probably the best exponents of Thrash guitar and vocals I’ve ever heard, and tracks such as Live at The Inferno and Crash Bang Wallop bear this out. Unfortunately recent years have seen their material dilute slightly, however, their 1991 album ‘Architect of Fear’ (not stocked by Amazon!) certainly saw them back on course. What an Album, what a Band!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Energetic Document of 80 Metal Scene, In this live album, the Gallagher Bros. and the insanely proficient drummer Wacko! deliver an astounding performance that clearly shows what the metal scene of the 80 has lost since it left the underground. Here, you’ll find a set of furious, to-the-point songs delivered with honesty and sheer power, qualities that the bands who embraced mainstream forgot along the way. Contemporary metal acts chose to forget the rich heritage of the early 80 and embraced more “cerebral” musical stylings, or even worse, pushed the envelope of genre crossover to the point where no musical identity was left. That should be a positive sign, but somewhere along this path something went wrong and we’re left with results that please the radio programmers much more than the (often fanatical) metal audiences. So, if you’re looking for an honest testimony of the 80 scene, look no further than this album…and forget the current 6-month wonders that shall be forgotten when the next “big thing” comes along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power, glory, and a lot of screaming– Raven delivers., The back cover of this album shows drummer Wacko! about to hurl his kick drum into a ravenous audience…they would be oblivious to the pain because the show was a pure adrenaline rush. Raven first live document is a vicarious experience– you feel as if you are one with the crowd. The set is full of mayhem-inciting metal of yester-year, when all that mattered was if the song pounded you into aural submission. Vocalist John Gallagher has pipes from hell. He seems to be able to sustain notes for minutes as he shrieks, moans, and growls for a wildly approving audience. All 3 of the musicians that comprise this power-trio are very gifted, and all seem to have colourful personalities, further enhancing an already tremendous live output. “Live at the Inferno” is one of the greatest live pure metal documents– grab it because it out of print!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have, Another in my list of classics. Raven Live at the Inferno captures the band at its best. Get it now.
