IN FLAMES “The Jester Race”
The band has just left the underground days of Wrong Again Records behind and with Nuclear Blast on its side, releases one of the works that marked the music genre that was considered New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal. The raw violence of the early Swedish death metal sound has given way to technical guitars and more complex orchestrations, without, however, leaving the brutal element out of the game. With this record, In Flames saw their stock skyrocket and, very quickly develop into one of the most famous bands of our day, without this having affected them at all in their subsequent releases. Sometime shortly after the release of this disc, the well-known In Flames – Dark Tranquillity duo was created… one pole is at your disposal.

HAMMER FALL
“Glory To The Brave”
Nuclear Blast is a company that, since its inception, has shown its love for everything extreme that came from the metal space. So the decision to turn to the power scene, with a band called Hammerfall, was a real surprise.  “Glory To The Brave” dropped like a real bomb when it was released. The reviews were mixed. mics, the sales are similar and everyone is talking about the new great hope of metal. And they weren’t wrong. Marrying the galloping da-nifts of Maiden and Helloween with the anarchic lyrics of Manowar, Hammerfall create classic metal anthems such as “Metal Age”, “The Dragon Lius Bleeding” and the self-titled, giving metalheads a chance for non-stop headbanging. . I’m not a fortune teller to predict the future of Hammerfall. It is, however, certain that “Glory To The Brave” will be a point of comparison every time the Swedes release new work.

HYPOCRISY
“Abducted”
If there is one term to describe the Swedes’ fourth full-length album, it is “space death metal”. And indeed, the tracks on the disc look as if they have emerged from the collaboration of the mainman of the group Peter Tagtaren with the crew of an alien spaceship, which made a small stop on our own planet. Until this record, Hypocrisy was just a very good Swedish death metal band trying to establish their own terms of the game, and with “Abducted” they managed to do it. And this factor alone is not enough to make this album stand out from the rest of the discography means that there are no good tracks here….

THERION “Lepaca Kliffoth”
The Swedes have just released one of the best albums of their career, “Symphony Masses: Ho Dragon Ho Megas”, and are signed to Nuclear Blast, to which they still belong today. The first album of the collaboration Therion-Nuclear Blast was “Lepaca Kliffoth”, a disc in which the band began to flirt with the classical elements, which it processed through a death-metal musical prism, creating them, according to way, a result that shocked conservative heavy metal fans, but was accepted by those looking for new experiences from their favorite music. Therion today is one of the most well-known bands and this album shows that they justly deserve what they are enjoying today… for those who have forgotten, only hard work brings
Legacs Küffath

CHILDREN OF BODOM “Something Wild”
A classic example of what we call a “tile”, for most of us, was the release of the Finns’ debut album. And if the tile was right, since the group O came to prove, in the most triumphant way, that the bands of the extreme with a metallic sound, are neither lagging behind in technique nor simply taking an instrument in their hands and starting to “scratch and they growl senselessly”. In no time, the whole of Europe was talking about Alexi Laito’s company, Japan was clamoring for the triumphant Finns to pass through its soil, and the song you will hear here should
logically, make you want to get their discography, the very next moment… go for it now!

DIMMU BORGIR “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant”
Having completed their wanderings on the underground circuit, Nig Vigoi became the first black metal band to be signed to the German label and “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant” was the album that their younger fans love and their older fans love to hate. If we look at things with a colder eye, the record does not include “dance hits” exactly, but breaks away from the old standards of the black metal sound in a way that seemed to bother many.

PRIMAL FEAR “Primal Fear”
After his escape from Gamma Ray and his failed attempt to replace Hallord in Judas Priest, Rat Scheepers returned to the metal scene with Primal Fear. Having by his side the worthy supporter Mut Sinner, he presented a work of real dynamite. True to traditional “80s metal, with an emphasis on Priest of the “Detarders” era, “Primal Fear” impresses with its simplicity and its aversion to any “so-called” novelties and gimmicks”. Primal Fear declare themselves traditional and nobody can’t blame them. After all, if you don’t keep the tradition, you lose your true identity. As for Rust’s voice,
This is beyond criticism.

COVENANT “Nexus Polaris”
“Nexus Polaris”, the Norwegians’ second effort, was one of the albums that divided the black metal community when it was released. Perhaps, in the end, what disturbed the most were the statements of the band, with which they rebelled from the black metal phase, but there was also a large number of people who found interesting what Covenant presented in this work, and embraced it venture With many distinguished guests in their line-up, the Norwegians chose to go down a path completely removed from “four-channel” tactics, dressing their tracks with a rich production that helped the scheme achieve its goals. As for the differences comments about “dance hits” and the like, their ear didn’t seem to sweat much…

BENEDICTION “The Dreams You Dread”
Even the most fanatical fans of Bontdiction agree with the fact that this English band has always been a step below, in terms of appeal, compared to bands with a common place of origin, such as Carcass, Napain Death nat Bolt Thrower. But that didn’t stop them from releasing some decent records and “The Dreams You Dread” is, if nothing else, a decent piece of work that gives the stamp of English death metal. Although the speeds aren’t particularly fast, the sound is huge.

CREMATORY “Awake”

SINNER “The Nature Of Evil”

DISMEMBER “Massive Killing Capacity”
The Swedes Dismeno are one of the oldest bands in the death metal and they released some very good works that also raised the metal fans’ interest. “Massive Killing capacity was the “different – let’s characterize it like this – work. Remewed sound but they stay true to their roots.
