5.0 out of 5 stars Dear God , what is this evil that we must’ve done?,
‘No Rest’ is arguably NMAs finest album, the most consistent, passionate work Justin Sullivan and the lads have released before or since. No Rest captures the righteous anger of the dispossessed, smalltown frustration and search for identity characteristic of their work, and spits it out in punchy, bass-heavy four minute gothic punk bites. From the opening lines of ‘Frightened’ sneering at the belief that ‘the world outside your bolted door is evil’, to the stark percussive lament to the death of the industrial North, ‘No Greater Love’, this paints as bleak a picture of Thatchers Britain as you are likely to find. As a slice of musical history, as a snapshot of a band at their finest, and as an album which makes you want to cry AND revolt, I cannot recommend this album highly enough, particularly to Killing Joke and Joy Division fans (who probably have it already ;))

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard, intelligent punk-rock!,
This is one of the defining albums of the 1980s for me. New Model Army have their own unique style – caustic bass lines over thumping drum beats, tuneful guitar riffs and some very intelligent lyrics delivered in a style that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until the songs are over!
