Description

Go On… was the third album by American pop band Mr. Mister. It was released in 1987, and featured a more serious tone than their previous album Welcome to the Real World, which was commercially successful. This album did not fare as well commercially and would become the last publicly released album by the band before they broke up in 1989.

The most celebrated Mr. MISTER album?
Go On…” is the second, an underrated gem including terrific compositions.

When Mr. MISTER’S ‘Welcome To The Real World’ album eventually became a huge international seller, producing two massive hit singles in Kyrie and Broken Wings, the music business hailed them as all conquering heroes destined to take their place in the rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame.
So much attention was focused on this their follow-up album, the meticulously crafted “Go On…”, with many eyes and ears confidently predicting another massive success story.
“Go On…” suffered at the hands of a record company corporate reshuffle, one that saw it change hands and clean out its long time staff. RCA had been sold to German media group BMG who set in motion a restructuring of the company, a place where Mr. MISTER’s new music was not appreciated.
It was a disappointing state of affairs as the band had poured their heart and soul into crafting an album that, in many respects, displayed a far more confident and courageous sound…. but one that BMG were not sold on.

Utilising producer Kevin Killen who had previously crafted records by U2 and Peter Gabriel, “Go On…” elevates the band to another creative level.
The sound is perfectly pristine, boasting a brace of superb songs including the all time great “Stand And Deliver” and the exquiste single “Healing Waters” wrapped up in a progressive rock&pop sheen that, even to this day, makes it entirely unfathomable as to why the record label failed to see its potential.

In fact, if you ask me, although I love Mr. MISTER’s previous album, I like “Go On…” even more.
The record retained the same themes, stylistics and quality of work of ‘Welcome To The Real World’, this time a bit more darker and moodier, but more elegant at the same time. The sound production is awesome crystal clear, and there’s an adult AOR fragrance floating all over.
A MUST HAVE.

Best band in the world, Richards earlier band Pages were brilliant also Page is such an under rated musician and he had it all, talent, looks? charisma…..funny how those kind of artists are ALWAYS overlooked for cookie cutter crap.

Go On is an extraordinary album,? this song is fantastic

“The Border” was the third single from the album “Go On…” The combination of acoustic piano, guitar, drums, fretless bass and lead singer Richard Pages soaring solo vocal marked a return to “roots” of sorts for a band that had been one of the pioneers of the densely packed, synth-heavy 80s sound.
