A pretty cool compilation of unsigned bands; contains 15 tracks from French and Belgian bands and ranges from the more traditional end of metal and thrash (complete with some good widdly guitar solos) to something on the verge of death metal near the end.
Impressive original metal (like opening band, Syrens Call). Theres no compromising the full-on metal guitars throughout this compilation – not a ballad in sight (cool!). Although there are a variety of styles on this album, they all seem to suit being together here – the order is well chosen. All of them are reasonably original, to varying degrees and make for an enjoyable compilation of metal the way it should be. However, ‘Eternity’ by C-One heavily borrows a few elements for Black Sabbaths sweet Leaf’ and a Led Zeppelin song!

This 15 songs /70 minute compilation album has good bands with clear, technical musicianship and excellent vocal deliveries. Clean hard-rock/metal sound reminiscent of bands such as (early) Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Nuclear Assault, Scorpions, Faith No More… High-pitched clear singing with some pout to it, lots of guitar solos and effects – but its high-energy, punchy and melodic, well played and well-produced. Some of it is on the heavier side and some of it could be labelled “glam.” Booster Productions appears to be a French label and a number of the bands sing in French. Who ever thought France would become the bastion of 80s metal?! Each and every song on this compilation CD is quite good! This is a good CD which clearly represents some bright talents playing Hard Rock/Prog & Classic Metal. Its energetic stuff, easy to listen to, and generally enjoyable.
