A totally unassuming album, the type that is often forgotten. This American born Canadian is reminiscent of artists like Tony Joe White, David Foster and Russ Ballard. Why? Because all mentioned are vastly under appreciated, are extremely talented, and most importantly – their songs have all been recorded by many well-known and famous musicians. Covering a wide variety of genres, he has written songs for a number of well-known artists, including Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Cher, Bette Midler, Chicago, and Josh Groban. I find this album elegantly understated yet with a charm of its own, with really good songs on it that shine. And the who’s who of artists appear in support, which really indicates his standing. This is the type of album you ignore at your own peril. RCA, 1987.

Brilliant Hi-tech aor release and one of my all time favourites. Top tracks -All of them especially ‘This Independence’, seek And You Shall Find’and the hauntingly beautiful’ Soldier Of Fortune’. Fabulous musicians and an out of this world production make this one an absolute must have.
Brilliant westcoast stuff, if you can find it. A masterpiece.
Good Westcoast/Lite/AOR album
80s techno-AOR doesn’t get much better than this. Sure this has a sort of singer-songwriter mood, but how can you ever forget the intensity and the magic of “Catch The Moon”, “I Was Your Fool” or “Soldier of Fortune”? Marc has an incredible voice and in this record gives his best on massive keyboards/piano landscapes. There is also some stuff akin to YES (Trevor Rabin era, he also plays guitar on this album), Rush (“Power Windows” era), Wang Chung etc. 9.5/10
