Hats off to Vandenberg! A great and groovy rock album with sharp vocals from the ex Little Ceaser singer and also Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo. The best Whitesnake without David Coverdale.
5.0 out of 5 stars Manic Eden,
I have recently acquired the cd as I’m a huge Whitesnake fan. I must say this album is impressive. The grouping initially had James Christian (House of Lords) on vocals joining Adje Vandenberg, Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo..James left sighting a style too close to Whitesnake… If only Slip Of The Tongue had the blues based rock edge this album has.. The vocalist brought in Ron Young (Little Ceasar) does a fine job and the album is full of great grooves and bluesy riffs.. There is a fine mix of slower tracks to more raw rock tracks like “”When The Hammer Falls Down”” and “”Pushing Me”” I really like “”Fire In My Soul and the slower tracks with a “”Hendrix”” feel “”Do Angels Die””, “”Dark Shade Of Grey””.. I recommend this album for lovers of Blues based hard rock..

Ex Whitesnake + ex Little Caesar,
Manic Eden might not be that well known because in a way it certainly looks like a side project to Whitesnake, while David Coverdale were busy elsewhere. 3/4 of Manic Eden are ex Whitesnakers – Adrian Vandenberg (guitar), Rudy Sarzo (bass) and Tommy Aldridge (drums). Together with singer Ron Young from Little Caesar the band released only one ignored album in 1994. It’s a shame that this album never gained any attention because it’s a solid rock effort certainly worth to be checked out. Even though the rock tunes are good, the ballads “”Do angels die?””, “”Dark shade of grey”” and “”Ride the storm”” are even better. If you like Little Caesar you’ll absolutely like Manic Eden’s blues based hard rock.. Put up £12 and take a chance – sometimes musical curiosity pays!
