Regan Hagar was in a band called Malfunkshun with Andrew Wood, and Malfunkshun shared a rehearsal space with Green River which Stone Gossard was a member of. Andrew Wood and Stone Gossard played together in Mother Love Bone after that and Regan, Shawn and Mike formed the band Satchel. They all remained friends during this time as Regan, Stone, and Jeff Ament would often have jam sessions and eventually Regan, Shawn, Mike, and Stone decided to form another band which they wanted to call `Shame` but that name was already taken by a man named Brad Wilson… so they decided on the next best thing, they called this band Brad. That is the story on how this band was formed.

Devilhead guitarist Kevin Wood was in the lame Malfunkshun with his younger brother Andrew Wood, who went on to front Mother Love Bone and then OD in 1990, leaving two bandmates — one of whom co-owns Loosegroove with another Malfunkshun alumnus — to form Pearl Jam. Devilhead, which has no fixed line-up but calls Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound home, includes a third Wood, singer/guitarist Brian. Collectors of Seattle ephemera may be compelled.
Devilhead were an American alternative rock group formed by brothers Kevin Wood (guitar) and Brian Wood (vocals), who were both elder brothers of the late Andrew Wood, the singer of Malfunkshun (which also featured Kevin) and Mother Love Bone, in 1994 in Seattle, Washington following the breakup of their previous group The Fire Ants. Both Kevin and Brian were the only permanent members of the group and they released two albums  Your Ice Cream’s Dirty in 1994  on Loosegroove Records, with album art by Regan Hagar;  and Pest Control in 1996 , which featured a number of contributors including bassist John Waterman and guitarist John McBain, both of the band Hater. For a period in 1997, former Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd was a member of the band. They were also briefly  fronted by Green Apple Quick Step front man Tyler Willman before eventually disbanding.Â
