5.0 out of 5 stars Its different, but in a good way,
It took me a while to fully appreciate this CD because it wasn’t what I was expecting at all; not everything was as fast paced as the songs on ‘lets talk about feelings’. But after just three listens, I was in love with the album. Lagwagon develops a new sound with each album they release, and I can attest that they sound better every time. Blaze differs from its predecessor by adding some touches of Joeys side band “Bad Astronaut” (the intro to first song on ‘Houston: we have a drinking problem’ is very similar to Burn). And although they do change their style, traces of their old musical style can still be heard on the cd with songs like ‘Billy Club’ (which sounds very similar to ‘Angry Days’).
This CD IS Lagwagon: catchy, melodic punk music. Definitely a must have – it makes the long wait worth while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!!,
Finally… a new lagwagon album + a whole new style of punk!
After a long wait, Lagwagon is back, reinventing their sound yet again; and this is definitely their best yet. I was getting so tired with the poppy punk sound that has been polluting radio stations and even MTV as of late (ie… simple plan, good charlotte, and new found glory), so something new, that is still in the punk genre is definitely welcome.
The lead singers voice may not at first be appealing to you because it sounds different, but it grows on you. It reminds me of what Tom DeLonge used to sound like on blink-182s first two albums(before they got popular with Enema of the State). Also, Lagwagon combines a good mixture of fast-paced riffs and beats with slower, more emotional melodies, to get a sound that u rarely, if ever hear.
Bottom line is that this CD is really good. Nearly every song is good, so its definitely worth the money…I recommend it to anyone that has a taste for quality punk music.

This review is from: Blaze (Audio CD)
After 5 years, Lagwagon comes back better than ever. I realized the talent each member of the band has. Every song has at least 8 different parts in it, switching back and forth, and really nice guitar solos. Surprisingly the sound isn’t changed that much, you can tell right away it is lagwagon. Joeys voice is even better than ever, i think it evolved after doing the bad astronaut cds. This CD gets a 5 from me, one of the best cds i have heard. Pork pie represent.

I am a lagwagon fan and have been since they released trashed. One thing I hate about the reviews this band gets is how people always talk about how Lagwagon keeps changing after every release. Reality Check my friends. Change is inevitable. I play in a band that releases music and I hate the cynical reviewers who try and compare or complain that we haven’t stayed the same since the last album.
Lagwagon has come a long way since Duh. The band has matured and definitely made their sound known throughout the entire world of punk rock. Blaze is an excellent album. Those who say it is radio friendly are not in the right state of mind. Even though the album doesn’t sound the same as their previous releases doesn’t mean to say it is a let down.
This is one of my favourite albums. I think that if you are a true fan of lagwagon you will appreciate it and not complain that it doesnt sound the same as trashed or hoss.
There are no let downs on this album and if it is to be the last from the band its a good album to end their long musical careers with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lagwagon at their best,
What can i say about “Blaze?” well, how about Herpa Derpa Diddly Dang. I’ve been a lagwagon fan for a long time now and i have to say this is one of their very best. It also sounds like Joey had some Bad Astronaut Rub off on this album too, its not as fast as their older stuff but the lyrics are are at their peak. anyone who says the Caper isn’t a genius, well…everyone should check this out. unless you live in castle greyskull.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 years in the making, 5 great musicians, 5 star rating!,
We’ve been waiting since 1998 for a new Lagwagon album, and I’d say that 5 years has definitely paid off. Lagwagon is back with some of their best work to date. With songs like “Burn”, “Dancing the Collapse”, and “Never Stops”, theres absolutely no way you can go wrong with this album!
Joeys lyrics and singing are better than ever, being able to hit each note perfectly, while still having that Lagwagon edge. Chris and Leon show off their amazing guitar talents once again, “blazing” out solo after solo without ever missing a beat. Jesses bass lines are as melodic as they always were, if not more. And Daves drum fills are faster, more elaborate, and more enticing than the days of “Double Plaidinum.”
All and all, this album is a must, and I stress the word “Must”, buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nearly their best album,
Only listened to it a few times, but I think this is Lagwagons second best album… which means it deserves 6 stars. I don’t know why everyone thinks the 2 albums that preceded this one are so great by the way… I mean they are great albums but not Lagwagons best. Without any doubt, “Hoss” is Lagwagons best album and perhaps one of the best punk albums of all time. This one is a close second, and reminds me somewhat of the energy, sincerity and talent displayed on that album. I was extremely happy to hear them return to the level of performance that they had on “Hoss,” even though the music isn’t quite the same. They should put cheesy retro cowboy guys on all their albums if it means having a good one.

5.0 out of 5 stars More stars,
I wanted to give this CD more stars but was limited to only 5. I have listened to a number Lagwagon CDs and while they were all good Blaze was the best I heard. Great CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing,
Lagwagon has always made amazing albums and this one is their best in my opinion. Every song is amazing but especially “Max Says” and “I Must be Hateful”. These guys deserved more attention than they got when they were going but hopefully someone will read these reviews and discover a great band that offered great lyrics and powerful songs throughout their whole career.
