These Brooklyn boys rock hard. The CD has songs like “”Dis for Denim””, “”Hootie World””, “”Poppin Wheelies””, Iron Lung””, “”we got Limo”” and last but not least SEX ATTACK! Fun and hard. Plus, they use some kind of tuning that sounds like its below drop-D, which means they sound heavier than Slayer. Kung Pao has the dirtiest sound of any band. Full-bore sludge metal, riff-centric, bong-headed bliss. Rocking, no social or critical lyrics and just straight in the face.

Kung Pao was formed in the spring of ’97 when Chovie D and T.B. moved to New York City from Madison, WI. They quickly hooked up with drummer Davey D, who rocks more than anyone could have hoped for. Although their sound is heavy and aggressive, the band is not about anger and frustration. This band is all about having a good time, celebrating life’s basic themes and stomping their way through huge slabs of sound.

Kung Pao -Bogota will blow your speakers!,
A friend dragged me out on my birthday to see his favorite band. I came home with this record, I am now a 1/2 year older and this disc is still in my player. I’ve had many parties with this disc. Kung Pao has written some serious ass-kicking tunes. Most of my collection i.e Mans Ruin, Amrep, Matador etc.. pales in comparison with this originality. Recorded with a great Bass sound with really catchy lyrics. It makes me want to quit my band.

ever love the band you saw on stage last night but were underwhelmed by the record you bought from the roadie on the way out the door? this is not that record. Bogota literally sounds like it crawled out of the rock dive you passed out in last night. kung pao have nailed that raw, heavy live sound that leaves your ears ringing – straight up, no studio gimmicks. old school dirt metal from the Motorhead school, similar to bands like Suplecs coming out on Man’s Ruin these days.
