Third demo for the Sardinian KTL, an interesting band that certainly boasts in its past also the opening act for the historians Jethro Tull on the Cagliari date in the 2001 tour. The combo led by Marco Angioni shows remarkable instrumental skills as well as a discreet compositional verve dynamic and multifaceted, although honestly, perhaps not very original in riffing. Musically speaking, KTL range from the more elegant and refined Pomp – Prog (such as the “The Screen” or “Piano Nine” opener, to more Hard Rock and incisive sounds, such as ‘Gli Artigli Della Chimera’ (really excellent song, fast and rhythmic) until reaching even heavier and more massive shores, such as the compact “Heart Of Darkness”, where Drum & Bass derivation loops and a granite guitar leave their mark. Really valid is the guitar working of the mastermind Marco, certainly influenced by the various Satriani, Petrucci and beautiful company, but also attentive to the sound of the gigantic Zakk Wylde, especially in the heaviest parts, both the mood and the keyboards offer, without skimping valuable intertwining with the guitar and at times disturbing atmospheres now 80’s (in this case it is emblematic “Cronache Dal Basso Futuro”, a song that bravely reaches 13 minutes). An excellent job, thought and arranged properly, highly experimental and fearless, perhaps not very original in the riffing, but certainly fresh, where also the production is crystal clear and in line with the proposed genre, giving that extra something to the job … but also attentive to the sound of the gigantic Zakk Wylde, especially in the heaviest parts, both the mood and the keyboards offer, without skimping on the fine weaves with the guitar and at times disturbing at times 80’s atmosphere (in this case it is emblematic “Cronache Dal Basso Futuro”, a song that bravely reaches 13 minutes). An excellent job, thought and arranged properly, highly experimental and fearless, perhaps not very original in the riffing, but certainly fresh, where also the production is crystal clear and in line with the proposed genre, giving that extra something to the job …
